Radhe-Krishna vs Hare Krishna?

Hari Bol

Please Accept My Humble Obeisances. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Please Forgive My Offenses If I Have Committed Any In Asking This Question.

I have heard of different Sampradaya's using a different form of the Maha-Mantra.

"Radhe-Krishna, Radhe-Krishna, Krishna-Krishna, Radhe-Radhe/ Radhe-Syama, Radhe-Syama, Syama-Syama, Radhe-Radhe."

^ This mantra does seem to match perfectly with our Maha-mantra:

"Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare."

My question is, are both Mantra's equally powerful?

What is Srila Prabhupada's view on those who chant Radhe-Krishna as opposed to Hare-Krishna?

Again, please forgive me if I have upset anyone.

Your Servant,

David

Hare Krishna David Prabhu, please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
as i heard in the lecture the Hole Name of Srimati Radharani as "Radha" is the Her topmost Name. Because of that it is very risky to chant the Name "Radha", if we commit offense to Her Name we will get some reaction.
But Hara means that who steals. Hari is that also who steals. and in calling form it will be "Hare".
So we chant the Name "Hare" meaning please, steal my attention to You, to the service unto You!
Srila Prabhupada says that Hare is our Mother, and saying Hare we call Her, we should call Her like a crying child.
    Hareeee Hareeee!
Because of that that Maha Mantra which we chant is immensely merciful. Anyone, anywhere, anytime can chant It.
    Your servant,
  • Hare Krsna, David prabhu,

PAMHO. All glories to his divine grace, A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada.

All your questions, seem to suggest you are trying to analyze the method. Nothing wrong, but it is not worth the time.

We are provided with this maha mantra in our Gaudiya sampradaya and the message is passed in the bona-fide disiplinic succession, starting from Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who is none other than Krsna himself (in the mood of Srimati Radharani), who appeared in the material world to teach how to be a Vaishnava.

There are 2 key methods of learning and understanding. One is ascending method - where we understand a concept by analysing it (logically, practically, experimentally), learn and then proceed to the next step. In this method, we might want more time than what we might actually have in this human birth and in the age of Kali.

The second method of learning and understanding is "decscending" - where we accept and submit ourselves to the words of the bona-fide guru, who is kindly passing on the mantra, process, message, etc. directly to us. This is the best method. Our senses are limited and imperfect and hence ascending method of understanding might lead us to more questions than what we can analyze and understand. So understanding the effects of the mantra/process (though could be helpful) will come as a part of our yatra and will come as we progress. Our only work in the human life is to try to go back to God head. This is possible by the method mentioned by our gurus.

The other forms of the maha mantra you have mentioned, could be in practice in other sampradayas, pardon me my ignorance, I am not aware of it. If it is mentioned by any guru in any Vaisnava sampradaya, it must be valid.

However, our gurus have asked us to chant Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna Hare Hare. Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama, Rama Hare Hare and we do it.

I am not sure, I have an elaborate answer for your question, but this is my understanding. Forgive me if I have in any way offended you.

    Hare Krsna.
