Hare Krishna dear Devotees
Ever since I joined this platform, I have received valuable advice from all Devotees and was able to share this with my friends.
One of my friends have a question for which I felt the devotees here would give the right solution.
My friend, who is also a krishna devotee and does 1 round of japa everyday, got a job last week through recommendation by her parent's friend who works there. She got the job of her dreams that she always looked forward to work at. However, she is not able to accept the fact that she is getting what she wants but not in the way how she wanted to get it. She always wanted to get a job by her own efforts and not through someone else. She was preparing well for the same and now she feels that her hardwork is wasted and she is not worthy of what she has got. Her work starts from next month. Till then she wants guidance as what she should do. How she should prepare her mind. She is willing to do this job. She is ready to give her best in work as she wants to respect the salary she will get paid. Only insecurity that she has is that she got this job from recommendation. She also feels that she will be looked down by her colleagues and also she won't be able to learn the work fast.
Devotees please guide her. In what perspective should she look at this phase of life? How can she be happy and focus on doing her best and excel in her job? What is the spiritual prespective of this?

Bhagavad Gita 13.23:
Bhagavad Gita 2.47:
Throughout the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna states that He is the supreme enjoyer and the cause of all causes. This essentially means that anything anyone receives in their life is because Krishna has sanctioned it to them accordingly at the exact moment of their life.
Ultimately, making Krishna the proprietor of the blessing as well as the one who fundamentally owns it. Making your friend here a piece of Krishna's grand scheme for her happiness.
It is clear that for your friend, life is not happening the way she expects it, hence the feeling that she does not deserve this job. But, if life is not happening HER way, doesn't that mean life must be happening Krishna's way?
If life is also not happening Krishna's way, then that destroys his role as the supreme protector and Godhead.
So if Life is not happening her way but is happening Krishna's way, then that is a valid reason to rejoice and be happy because a much more intelligent consciousness is taking care of the direction of her life. Whatever Krishna bestows in our life is calculated, it is not a mistake. It cannot be a mistake because that would contradict Krishna's many qualities as a strategist.
What your friend should understand is that this idea of how her future should go is an imagination. She's bundling up what she knows from the past and throwing it into her assumed future and calling it "vision". The truth is, the only thing that surely exists is this very moment. The past doesn't exist anymore and the future can happen in a billion different ways, irrespective of what we know.
Lord Krishna has stated that our main responsibility is to act, we only have the right to the action alone. We believe that we will be satisfied after a job, after marriage, after kids, etc. But every yogi and saint, as well as Krishna himself, has stated that the purpose and ultimate future of human existence is Mukti/Liberation from Samsara.
So let Lord Krishna handle the complexities of your friend's life, the job he gave her was not a mistake. He is actively considering her happiness and a smooth road to her surrender to Him. She just needs to understand she's truly in good hands. That starts with not trying to mentally grasp how, but to simply surrender to the truth that she is literally sitting in the lap of Krishna's grace. Hare Krishna
Thank you so much prabhuji. My friend read your insightful thoughts. 'He is actively considering her happiness and a smooth road to her surrender to Him' she is happy reading this.
She only fears that her colegues would look down upon her and that she will not be able to learn the work fast, although she is ready to give her best to whatever amount she will be earning. Please tell how she should handle this prabhuji.
I will say this:
What people think about is a reflection of the quality of their own minds, not yours
It has nothing to do with you or how you are. Often, what we believe about others judging us is just our fears getting projected outward, it may or may not be true. But if people are visibly showing us that they have a problem, then wouldn't their reaction be more of a depiction of their behavior than ours?
If your friend's coworkers are treating her in a nasty way, that means they are nasty people. Only nasty behavior can come out of nasty minds. Truly nice people wouldn't treat others in a bad way, it's not within them to simply produce and push out into the world.
People who treat her badly for whatever reason are hurting themselves more than her, that is the nature of Karma. Karma goes so deep that it can affect what kind of thoughts you produce. She shouldn't feel bad if people are treating her badly, they're causing themselves suffering in more ways than they could imagine.
Your friend is a good person and dear to Lord Krishna. She should walk into the workplace confidently because she knows she would never treat someone the way people have treated her. She's choosing to respond to Adharma with Dharma, that's a phenomenal display of character and greatly appeases Lord Krishna, who is the restorer of Dharma himself! Hare Krishna!
Thank you so much prabhuji
Hare Krishna,
Whatever we get in this material world is not a concidence. We have had some past connections with these people, these places. We get the job to work somewhere is also because we had to finish a len den ye business that we started with them sometime back our past lives. Because of unfinished business we meet them. It looks like it is a coincidence... or someone recommended you to go to that place work for that company. But actually you had to work for them and finish the uncompleted business. Had you no connection nothing towards the people who offered you or ur friend a job then you wouldn't be dragged to the place on simple recommendation it self.
We try at many places apply for jobs not all of us call .. I only feel thank you Krishna they didn't call me or give me a job.
Because, I have nothing no len den business dealing with these people left.
If there is something to settle we are dragged to the place and we have to meet these people and we have to work for them. It is not at all upon recommendation that is happening It all this Karmic debt that we have to repay with these people.
So, don't feel so much and just do your karma ( that is the job) and finish this debt. You work they pay. The len den or business dealing is done. Pray to Krishna that thank you Lord you made this arrangement to finish my karma with these people. Once I am done with all the debts I am looking forward to meet YOU.
Hare Krishna
Thank you so much mataji. My friend read your valuable knowledge. 'Pray to Krishna that thank you Lord you made this arrangement to finish my karma with these people. Once I am done with all the debts I am looking forward to meet YOU. ' she will adopt this though is her life.
She only fears that her colegues would look down upon her and that she will not be able to learn the work fast, although she is ready to give her best to whatever amount she will be earning. Please tell how she should handle this mataji.
Some people are surpised how did she get a job !
some people are having thinking bad about you....
Some people are doubting whether she can whether she cannot perform the job.. will she be able to learn the work ? or will she never learn?
some people are loving you and want to see you succeed
People have many thoughts, opinions and judgements about us.
But what matters to me is what Sri Krishna thinks about me?
If I am able to Satisfy Sri Krishna I am done. I don't care what others think about me.
My eternal relationship with Krishna is what that matters to me no what these people these collegues think about me.
All I need to do is work for the pleasure of Krishna. For that I must give my 100% involvement without expecting what others thinks or whether others like me or not.
Krishna is my boss. I am answerable to only Krishna.
Hare Krishna
Thank you so much mataji
Hare Krishna mataji,
Sorry for long reply
There are 3 laws-
law of attraction - a term becoming famous nowadays "endeavour for what you desire and universe will be obliged to give it to you". But is true?
Once sharukh Khan was asked "sir how did you fell after becoming successful?" . He replied "at that time I didn't even understood what is success!". You see he didn't aspire for "success" but he got what majority of people call success. Mukesh Ambani so rich , says he is still not successful. Whereas many people doing so much hard work to become engineer, doctor, CA , want to go to IIT , AIMS, fail. Why? If this law of attraction works then why do they fail?
law of karma - it says that whatever you are getting right now is due to action performed already. What ever Krishna wrote in your life according to your past karma WILL happen. Your present endeavours shall shape your future , this life is a preparation for next. What you get, either failure or success , is result of actions already perfomed and now fructifying.
Let me give you one example - The founder of HDFC Bank worked to get fundings and permission for more than 20 years. Elon musk took many many years to establish and run spaceX. But bill gates became richest person while he was only 21-22. Just a few weeks ago I saw that the youngest millionaire of India named pearl , he established a business and became billionaire in 3 months. THAT FAST, WOW! you know why? Why does someone becomes rich so quickly but some work whole life. The answer is simple "karma" the "reactions of action"
Once there was a bhraman who went to lord Jagannath everyday to ask for boon. Even after asking he didn't got anything, he became frustrated. While he was at a shore , he a tall 10-12+ feet person huge person coming out of water , when he asked that man- who are you?. The man replied "i am vibhishan". Oh vibhishan, lanka's king? . "Yes, lord Rama made me king" . The bhraman asked - why did you cme here?. He replied to meet the lord.
The braham followed the king, he saw him going away from temple and thus asked "but lord Jagannath is there his temple is there" , he replied "lord Jagannath is personally present there" . The king went to lord Chaitanya, and the braham was king bowing down in front of lord Chaitanya, he asked him "why are you bowing to him?" He answered - cause he is jagannath himself.
After meeting vibhishan was leaving , but Brahman aided him, "you went to lord but didn't ask any boon? I am trying to ask something but I never get tho". King took the brhaman to lord Chaitanya again, and aksed about him to lord Chaitanya, lord Chaitanya replied "yes I know him, he asks me everyday, but right now he is not worthy, the time to give has not come, when is times , I shall give".
So what you get of don't get or HOW you get is just a matter of outer play, the reality always lies in karmic reaction and will of lord, "HARI ICHA" .
TELL YOUR FRIEND - MY dear friend, you got what you wanted, you shall be happy, Krishna never let's his devotees 's endeavours tokon vain. You shall see soon. For now this is his wish he contented and chant hare Krishna.
seeing negative side of everything is human tendency, but understanding the actual law of karma , shall help us to understand the situation. Just make sure to hear kathaas and and chant.
Law of Love - THIS is the highest law , love for God. When you are in love for God, god will side all the reactions and action and will do what is best for you and what he desires (and desires the best only for you since his love for us is unconditional) . Then you will realise it was Krishna's wish.
HDG srila bhaktisiddhant sarasvati thakura Prabhupada, was an expert jyotisi, so much that he could tell -only by looking at stars - that which mango will fall and when! YET, when asked about future by people he aould reply "joh hari icha" . So you see devotees are completely living on Krishna's grace. They don't care about their personal qualities.
Of course we are not that advanced devotees, yet we should take example and be contented.
Hare Krishna
Thank you so much prabhuji. My friend learnt about law of attraction and she says that she will learn more about it.
She only fears that her colegues would look down upon her and that she will not be able to learn the work fast, although she is ready to give her best to whatever amount she will be earning. Please tell how she should handle this prabhuji.
