Hare Krishna dear devotees

Dandvat pranam, Jai srila prabhupad

I would like know if i give up the sweets during the month of kartika.

1. Do i have to give up the sugar also in milk etc?

2. If i offer sweet bhoga to krishna, and i have skipped sweet for the kartik month. What should i do with Bhoga, It will be hard to distribute that prasadam during weekdays.

3. According to padam purana, Dont Eat: grains given by others. What if i am attending special programs at other devotees house and they serve prasadam. What should i do? Is the grain reference here as whole/raw grain or cooked one?

thanks

hari bol.

    Hare Krsna Prabhuji,

    PAMHO.

Sorry for late reply. Saw your post now only.

Where it is written that one shoudl give up favourite food during kartik or do any food restriction other than what is prescribed (urad dal, mustard seeds and mustard oil).

Personally, I am asking you - will you think of Krsna more by giving up sweets? I have my doubts....

Now to answer your questions -

    1) Yes.

    2) One option is to gather all the sweets through the week and distribute in weekend (Offer what will stay, as against easily perishable ones). Other option is - there must be watchman, driver, car cleaner, maid - some such people around -even if they are not serving you directly - you can still give them the sweets. Its prasadam, it will benefit them.

    3) Can you eat raw grain prabhuji? Why get into so much details - if you have taken the vow - then you have to follow. Even if they are offering, you have to politely refuse and have grain prasadam at your place only. If you have not taken this vow, then you can freely eat prasadam offered to you.

    Haribol,

    Your servant,

    Radha Rasamayi DD
