PAMHO.
If your shiksha guru has given you the instruction to preach, I am sure he has a reason behind it. He is not foolish to expect you to preach when you have zero knowledge of shastra. Maybe you are taking a very humble position and thinking you dont know anything, whereas the basics are known (this is what I think).
Anyways, if you have no knowledge, what is stopping you from acquiring the knowledge if you want to please your guru? Simply chant attentively, read, associate, hear lecture, eat Krsna prasadam and preach. My experience is we become more sincere devotees when we preach. The reason is - our philosophy is - aachar before prachar - one has to practise before preaching. One becomes aware of the responsibility that so many people are depending on one for their spiritual advancement that one ends up being more sincere.
Maybe that is required to make your resolve stronger.
When we preach, the mood has to be right. One has to preach as a service to guru and parampara, not to get x number of followers or any other reason. Otherwise it goes to our head immediately ruining our spiritual future. When we get praise, please pass it on to your guru and the parampara, keeping in mind that you do not deserve any of the praise being heaped on you. That is what I do.

for example: Chanting God's names involks the light of Hi's awairness & the energies of Hi's presences into y-our personal space. (always)* thus the parrabal can be made, that when we are enjoying good company in a lighted area, we are much saffer and more comfortable and more confident than when we are alone and surrounded by the darkness? In this exact same way to time we spend chanting & /in God's intalectuel preview is a safer more plesent experience of our time, than the normally void impersonal & hostile experience of matereal life as a rule! Offering progressively binnafishel abilities that trudging ruteenly thrugh life serving ourselves alone, for no physical or spiritual bennafits & littel significant gains! ? & we can remind others that the Soul enjoys* relisjes-the infinent the spiritual the inexzostabl & the pure & that the groose body or the conditioned mind does not! So in order to serve & nurture the all- knowing, & eternal aspect of our being this chanting must be pro-activly preformed with consistency & ferver.
Thus reawakening the mind's mimory of it's need for God & God's support systems respectively. And that this is the way to reverse our
(divorced status) from God that we the Soul are no experiencing, & the missory that it is causing in our hearts mind & lives. It is a holistic cure for this staye of sepperation that has the added benefit of creating or generating safishent fame to afford universal accknolegement that when we are reborn again we will have created a foundation for being known as and thus be returned as another "humen being" this is the fundamental aim of the teachings of ISKCON* To ultimately preserve the humen form for this Soul in it's next lifeTime! Now runTell that!
Your Soul need the dinamic associations of the Godhead & teachings & society in order for it to be truly happy, OtherWise nothing achieved by us physically will awaken joy within the deepest resesses of our being-our Spirit Soul.
Indeed that which is physical is adverse to that which is atomic & infinent & not centered around it. Amd likewise, that which is Spiritual & atomic & infinent is eternally repulsed by the mundane. Thus* if one's
intintions are to directly experience the fullfilment of happyness of one's entire being, one /everyone* is/will be obligated to neglect the personal ego & it's selfishness & address & serve the eternal internal spiritual aspect of the self.
Good luck & remember Darma means & is a duty not a choice a reconciliation of & for the daily mistakes/offenses we all inevitably make with intention or through neglect that divorce us from our connections with the GodHeads. So this duty of chanting is the not only the highest service but the simplist & most binnafishel of all service anyone can possibly perform.

So chanting properly is paramount! As you will be instructing others who are unaware of any other way!

Start Reading Bhagavat Gita , Read it as many times as Possible , you can also share prabhupada Quotes & Radha Krishna Pictures on Facebook -- this way you give darshan of the Lord to others.Keep hearing Prabhupada audio lectures on mp3 player through earphones . when you get a Hold of Knowledge of Selfrealization & of krishna , you can answer the Questions posted in the Discussion here , You can also preach to new comers at the temple some basics about Krishna and tell them about the Greatness of Human Birth, and why they should chant the Hare krishna Maha mantra ,tell them to Chant Hare Krishna Maha Mantra atleast 108 times to start off with.
