I am wondering if you are initiated or not. I heard from many that directly bringing radha krishna deities it is tough to serve them. Gernerally Guara Nitaai deities are worshiped at the start,( Srila Prabhupada deity or photo and picture of your own guru maharaj) .. then slowly they take up Then Panchatattva and then take up Jagannatha, Balabadra, Subhadra deity worship. If you get comfortable doing service to these deities...without fail performing daily aarti 2 times atleast and offering bhog then they may take up Radha Krishna Seva.

As far as I know. Prana Prathistapana procedure is done for bigger deities like above the size of your palm. For small deities less then the size of your palm the procedure is not required. Instead of Prana Pathistapana they call it as " welcoming the deities home". A small get together with some close people or even you and your own family can start it. Here most importance is given to following the procedure properly whatever you start on the DAY1 to be continued on all days. You cannot go back. If you did 2 times aarti on Day1. then it should be continued. It is better to start with simple. one time aarti, and offering bhog. Mostly time which you offer bhog should be followed same time everyday.

Look you are treating the deities like real person present there.. You must feed them daily without fail. In case you are a female and have some break days you must let your husband or someone do it. But there shouldn't be a break. Whatever you do on Day one regularity should be followed and it must increase day by day. Like first day you offered milk and fruits then it must be continued. In case after few days you feel this is comfortable now you can slightly increase the seva to next level. May be you can make a mahaprasadam and offer. Now if you started prasadam making at home ( never use store bought stuff) then offer that daily. After few days or months if you get comfortable take up offering bhog aarti in the evenings also. In case you are more and more comfortable slowly you can increase the seva to next higher level. But never go backwards only going forwards and increasing seva slowly one after another. After few months you can start serving naivedhya even in the lunch time.

Daily you should form a routine it maybe mangalaarti time or at little later after max. 5:30 am atleast before 8 am should be able to clean the house, sweep, mop the floors, take bath, keep ready all the pooja aarti supplies, thaali, and whatever paraphernalia, flowers, dhoop deep , prepare bhog and keep it ready and you may keep all those cleaning the thaali etc. before night itself . If you opt to daily do abhisheka then you must continue doing it. If you change deity dressing everyday ( then you must follow it regularly) not like one day you did another day you left. third day again did. this Slackness or careless attitude will not work strictly when you are opting to bring Esp. Radha Krishna deities.

If Radha Krishna deities are kept then there must be regularity and rigidity in rules and must have a clean house then only start aarti or any procedure of pooja, archana. This is must. You cannot say I cleaned the place where deity is kept rest all rooms are dirty.. the Kitchen in which you prepare food for Lord must be kept clean and dishes washed before hand itself.

So better introduce procedures slowly step by step. Don't rush, first day out of enthusiasm you will welcome Lord with lot of bhog and paraphernalia and after few days that enthu will subside then there will be carelessness, which becomes an offense esp. when it is Radha Krishna deities.

That is why people just keep photos for some time until they can practise well the procedure, and then take up Gaura Nitaai.

But if you are already used to doing seva of deities and you are comfortable in doing seva for Radha Krishna deity also then fine. Great!!!!

How to welcome the deities home. I was watching few vids. on youtube. I felt it is better to watch and learn then to type the list of things.
