Poem : Krishna and the Night

On an enchanting night,

Where the bright moon

Shines like a diamond in the night sky,

Where nightingales sing their sweet melodies,

There stands a certain cowherd boy,

Whose raven curls kiss his cheeks,

And whose peacock feather dances in the breeze.

His charming face stirs love-madness

In the hearts of all the gopis,

And his sweet smile drips nectar

For the hungry bees.

His tender steps bless Mother Earth,

And his gracious flute beautifies the night ether,

Attracting the hearts of all who hear,

Who drown in mighty floods of love.

Oh Krishna, slow down!

Let me catch up to you!

Let my feet be blessed by the dust

Your soles leave behind.

Let my voice forever sing your holy names,

While I endlessly follow you—

Like the sun for the moon.

Let my fallen self catch your two lotus feet

And hold onto them

Until the end of time...

Your unworthy servant Apoorva

    Oh Krishna, slow down!

    I didn't ge tthis line..?

You want to place your feet on to the foot prints of Lord?

ofcourse your way of expressing your love thru your own words.

I will instead running side by side chasing the feet..

Ya ya. .. I get it. it is romantic to put our feet on to the foot print of Lord .. only a Gopi can imagine and do such things.

I was thinking.. If we are just devotees we will never dare to even put our feet on the foot print of the Lord.

I know I know you are feeling love for krishna at this stage.. I wont see anything wrong.

ye prem hai sakhi.. yehi prem hai.. prem mein koi mistakes nahi hoti.

Krishna is running after the foot prints of Shree Radha.. Shree Radha.. running after cows.... and Apoorava is running after Krishna's foot prints.laughing

Mohan ke Charan raj mil jaaye toh maate pe lagau mai toh..

sirf ek premi hi boldly bol sakta hai .. mere charan tere charanon ke dhool paa le. All excused at this point.

    Radhe

    • Hare krishna! The line means to say that I want to follow Krishna from behind while steping on the dust that He steps on. So yes, you interpreted it right. The reason I wrote this is because devotees glorify the dust of Krishna's feet. In the Ramayana, the dust of Lord Rama's feet brought Ahalya back to herself, relieving her from being a stone.

I honestly didn't think of this in a romantic way 😂. I'm no gopi, I'm an aspiring Vaishnava that's all. Idk why my poems sometimes border on romance😅. Maybe that's just what my heart feels cause I usually try to write from my heart 😊..

      Radhe Radhe!

  • Hare Krsna Apoorva Mataji

What a glorious night you have described!

    A night of meeting!

    -----------------------------

    I am not so fortunate!

I lose all hopes of meeting Krsna, my heart is fickle!

    The memory remains!

Separation is more intense than the pleasure of meeting.

The whole world seems vacant for want of Krsna!

And time is such a thing, ' It never ends...'

    What an ordeal!

    :(

Sorry Mataji, I was feeling gloomy so i painted a gloomy picture.

I'll read your poem when I am in a joyous mood as well!

    Keep posting!

    Hari Bol
