Old divine pictures and Nirmalya

Hare Krishna dear devotees of the Lord,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupad.

I need your valuable guidance on two topics.

1. what to do with the old photos of the Lord, may they be on some calendar, diaries, books, photo frames etc. When they are in bad condition (due to ageing effect), where to dispose them (Sorry, I am not sure if it is the right word, I hope you get my emotions) ?

2. As I living in Germany, we could not give the offered flowers to the Lord (Nirmalya) or Prasadam Garlands of the Lord to the river. I have seen some German devotees putting Nirmalya in Bio-garbage bin. But, I don't like to do it since the other people in our building (all German-non devotees) throw their (Veg-Non-veg) rest food in the same Bio-garbage container. I really feel bad when I see on the Prasadam Garland, some non-veg rest food stuff.

Please guide me, in this situation what should I do ?

  • Burn it outside the building, somewhere safe like in the metal bucket. You can also dig a deeper hole in the earth and place it there, then cover it with the earth. During the proces one  can chant holy names of Lord.
