Hare Krsna! When offering food - do you chant on the food filling the food with Krsnas holy names? Or just chant thinking about Sri, Guru and Pancha tattva without so much focus on the food and let the deities bless it? Or both? Thanks - you guys are great devotees! Much love and light to you all! Hare Krsna!

Hare Krishna Prabhu ji,
When we are offering food to Lord. We are literally saying thanks for the food provided to us. There are so many people out there who are so needy and hungry. Who are less fortunate than us. But Lord is so merciful to us that He provided us today with the nourishing food. So, Say& be thankful , show a kind gesture like offering to the food giver first.
The father provides all His children food. If the child takes back some peice of small food and with love offers the father. Wouldn't the father feel happy?
In the same way the provider of food is Lord and so we must offer Him first thankfully. It is not that Lord who is the provided needs your food. It is out of our love for Krishna we are offering HIM, thinking HE is a little boy. HHEHE but the Little boy Sri Krishna is needing nothing from your plate. But only if you show love He will accept that food. You may chant guru, pancha tattva mantra or mahamantra but... Your intention and love matters most here. along with offering if you chant it is more good.
Hare Krishna.
Thank you Gayatri! That was well put! Hare Krishna!!
