Offer everything to krishna

Hare krishna!

Lord krishna says in Bhagavad Gita

Bg 9.27

yat karoṣi yad aśnāsi
yaj juhoṣi dadāsi yat
yat tapasyasi kaunteya
tat kuruṣva mad-arpaṇam
means
Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer or give away, and whatever austerities you perform – do that, O son of Kuntī, as an offering to Me.
How to achieve this practically.

  • Hariii boool,

    I think that :

-whatever you do means you need to offer the results of yours activities. For example, you was working so hard to plant vegetables, but worms ate everything, and instead being angry  on worms and frustrated, you should say : God is the cause of everything (sarva karana karanam) and im satisfied and indifferent what ever it comes, bad or good. That  means offering the results of activities to God in practice.

-whatever you eat means before you eat you offer first to Him.

-whatever you offer or give a way means for example when you give prasada or food to humans or animals, think that you doing that just for the Krishnas pleasure and satisfaction.

-whatever austerities you perform  means for example when you fast on ekadasi always remember that you doing it    for Krishnas pleasure and nothing else. In this way you offer your austerities to the Lord.

Sorry to bombard you with my responses prabhu but I was reading some discussion and this came up

Devotee: So what would be the daily prescribed religious observances followed by one who is aspiring for this sanatana-dharma? What would he do? The complaint is that within Hinduism--or, let's say, sanatana-dharma--there is such a breadth, there is so much variegatedness in different types--

Srila Prabhupada: Why do you go to variegatedness? Why don't you take the real purpose of religion from Krsna? Krsna says (Bhagavad-gita 18.66), sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja: "Give up all other so-called dharmas and just surrender to Me." Why don't you take that? Why are you taking up variegated practices under the name of so-called Hinduism? Why don't you take the advice of the sanatana, Krsna? You refuse to accept sanatana-dharma--what the sanatana, God, says--but you say, "How can we avoid so many varieties and come to the right point?" Why accept varieties? Take to this one consciousness: sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja. Why don't you do that?

Devotee: How can people do this practically, on a daily basis?

Srila Prabhupada: How are we doing it? Is what we are doing not practical? People will manufacture their own impractical way of religion, but they won't take our practical system. What is that? Man-mana bhava mad-bhakto mad-yaji mam namaskuru: Simply think of Krsna, become His devotee, worship Him, and offer obeisances to Him. Where is the difficulty? Where is the impracticality? Krsna says, "This is your duty. If you do this you will come to Me without any doubt." Why don't you do that? Why remain Hindu? Why remain Muslim? Why remain Christian? Give up all this nonsense. Just surrender to Krsna and understand, "I am a devotee of Krsna, a servant of Krsna." Then everything will immediately be resolved.

    Hare Krsna,

My obeisances to all devotees, guru and gauranga.

Offering to krsna is thinking about krsna. If one plans to buy a gift for his wife/girl friend, he is thinking of her. The mood and consciousness constitutes the state of mind. This state of mind is not about self as one can see in the example used, he is trying to please the other person. Similarly, every activity carried with krsna in mind will be an offering to him.

Practically what does one do for a day. If you break it down it will be

    Waking up,

    Brushing and showering

    Breakfast

    Work

    Lunch

    Head home

    Play time/leisure time

    Dinner

    Sleep

I haven’t included activities like doing arati to the deities, prasadam preparation and offering and chanting your rounds as these activities already constitute as an offering to Krsna.

So, in the above list, you can constantly chant krsna names while doing the activities and that itself becomes like an offering to Krsna. Like when you wake up, just put your hands together and pray for him looking at his photo or vigraha. While brushing and showering, think about him and sing his glories or songs or just sing maha mantra. For breakfast, lunch and dinner, you will/are already taking Krsna prasadam, and while doing that just keep chanting his names. At work and while coming back home again, read SP books or listen to lectures or kirtans. With your play time/leisure time, you can prepare for next day’s arati like making garlands, wicks, deities clothes (if you have installed the vigraha) etc etc or just spend time reading SP books or associate with devotees, visit the nearby temple. Finally before you retire, thank him for the day and sleep.

From my understanding this is how one can practically apply his time and mind towards Krsna by offering everything in a day to him and just repeat this day after day. Of course more things can be included to increase your krsna consciousness into your sadhana prabhu.

Hope I was able to provide some info to your question prabhu.

    Hari bol!!!!

    Srila prabhupada ki jai..

    Hare krsna

  • Text EightThe essence of all advice is that one should utilize one’s full time – twenty-four hours a day – in nicely chanting and remembering the Lord’s divine name, transcendental form, qualities and eternal pastimes, thereby gradually engaging one’s tongue and mind. In this way one should reside in Vraja [Goloka Vṛndāvana-dhāma] and serve Kṛṣṇa under the guidance of devotees. One should follow in the footsteps of the Lord’s beloved devotees, who are deeply attached to His devotional service.
