Hare Krishna Sanjeev Prabhu, please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

This is the nature of material world - in order to eat a peace of bread we have to work hard.

So at least to maintain our body and of those who depend on us we have to earn money. For that firstly we have to know our nature. What is our constitution. What is our varna brahmana, kshatriya...sudra...

    then act accordingly.

That we can know by seeing what good we can do for others. We can read, learn and give knowledge for other's welfare or we can manage in such a way so that everyone will be happy, or we love to earn money and love land, cows...or we love to create some arts, drive cars...

When we recognize in what we are expert then with confidence we have to go to a particular organization and request them to give you chance to serve.

I know it is too tuft. I also had problems with it. But when we are expert in our own duty then for sure society will need our help.

I used to play chess from childhood so when i completed school i easily got job as a chess teacher, of course i am not professional but still we should have to have some qualification to do something, isn't it?

One may know languages and start to translate papers, or one may love to cook and distribute food to some restaurants... yes i know Devotees who used to cook sweets and distribute to sweet shops + that was Prasadam.

Or else when i was a student i did not have time to do whole day job so i used to take tuitions for math classes or computer classes to small kids...

so please decide what You can do practically and start with small things.

No matter in the beginning You will find job with very small salary but still You go for it then seeing Your sincerity society will give You better place.

Most of us think that MA or PhD certificate will give us the best job but it might be so but what is the use you are having only paper and do not know your job and for example you work as a professor at the university but students teach you???????

    So is it honesty?????

No need to eat bread earned by cheating process but be sincere and do what we really can do and get as much money as people appreciate it.

should we be depended on salary?

can we do our own job? For example, i know Mataji who worked only for 2-3 years in her whole life in official job but after that she maintains herself with Prasadam distribution, sometimes distributing other devotional items, some times books. So she has enough time for proper sadhana and she does not have extra money for sense gratification.

Why we should do 8-10 hours job and do not have time for proper healthy eating, sleeping, and chanting????

If one or two Devotees come together they can start some Prasadam distribution or Book distribution and earn in such a way for basic needs.

Is it possible in big cities to do like that?

Please, let's share here the ways to help Devotees to earn for their basic needs!!!

It is a needed discussion for our times where many Devotees need this help.

      Thank You!

      Your servant,

      • Thank you very much for your nice suggestion.

        • From self experience i can say you have to start from small opportunities and keep learning. Keep working patiently and humbly. Always pay attention from who you learn.Be it your employer or your colleague. With time you will improove and be self sufficient. I totally agree with Maral mata ji......... And chant ....Hare Krishna....because he is the giver of all intelligence:)

I believe big things happen with humble and small beginings...Harrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii  Bollllllllll!!!

  • Sanjeev Prabhuji, You are not alone. Please read this article which appeared in TOI.

Krishna is the all doer. He has plans for everyone. He gives food to ant as well as an elephant. We need not worry. It is not that something which is not happening now will never happen. Everyone has good and bad times. Have patience, your good times will come soon. It happens slowly...I will pray for your betterment. Chant Hare Krishna and be happy ! Hare Krishna ! : )
