My hours…

Hare Krsna!  I was wondering,  my sleep schedule is messed up most the time as I'm a night owl most the time.  So do I have to serve Krsna at his alter before 8:00pm?  Can I do it at 11:00pm or 2:00am?  Thanks! All glories to Prabhupada!  Hare Krsna!

    Hare Krishna!

The time for serving Lord Krishna at His altar is not restricted to a specific time frame. However, it is recommended to offer the morning arati at sunrise and the evening arati at sunset. It is important to remember that serving the Lord is not limited to just offering arati, but it is a 24/7 service. Here are some references from Vedic literatures to support this:

    1. In the Bhagavad Gita (18.46), Lord Krishna says, "By worship of the Lord, who is the source of all beings and who is all-pervading, a man can attain perfection through performing his own work." This verse emphasizes that worship of the Lord can be done at any time and through any work that is performed with devotion.

    2. In the Padma Purana, it is mentioned that the Lord is pleased with the devotion of His devotees, regardless of the time of day or night. It is said that the Lord is always present in the hearts of His devotees, and thus, they can offer their service to Him at any time.

    3. In the Narada Pancharatra, it is mentioned that the Lord is pleased with the sincere service of His devotees, regardless of the time or place. The devotees should offer their service to the Lord with love and devotion, and the Lord will reciprocate accordingly.

The sun shines its light on all parts of the world, regardless of the time of day or night. Similarly, the Lord is always present and ready to accept the service of His devotees, regardless of the time.

The story of Prahlada Maharaja is a great example of how the Lord is pleased with the devotion of His devotees, regardless of the circumstances. Prahlada Maharaja was a great devotee of the Lord, even though his father was a demon who tried to kill him. Despite the challenges, Prahlada continued to offer his service to the Lord, and the Lord protected him.

The story of Dhruva Maharaja is another example of how the Lord is pleased with the sincere service of His devotees. Dhruva Maharaja was a young boy who wanted to see the Lord face to face. He performed severe austerities and offered his service to the Lord with great devotion. The Lord was pleased with his service and appeared before him.

In conclusion, serving the Lord is not limited to a specific time frame. The Lord is always present and ready to accept the service of His devotees, regardless of the time. It is important to offer our service to the Lord with love and devotion, and the Lord will reciprocate accordingly.
