it is said that we should not eat meat as it is sin to destroy life and we don"t have that right,but what about plants which have life but we eat them.Is it not sin.please solve my doubt.

Sanjay pr nice explanation. You said since we did not create the animals we have no right to eat them.... But have you created the plants??? No we have not created anything. We can only be instruments of the Lord in growing some plants. Only by the will of Lord does the seed germinate and grow into a plant. But the point that u made about pattram pushpam... verse from BG is very right reason and why we should only eat veg food after offering it to Krishna.
Pr... i wanted to know that even the onion and garlic are obtained from plants as well as they have medicinal values even then why they are not recommended in the krishnatarian food????????

(The following story was kindly provided by HH Bhakti Purusottama Swami) One ayurvedic doctor had told me that this description is there in Ayurveda: When Lord Vishnu in His Mohini form was distributing nectar to demigods two demons named Rahu and Ketu sat down along with the line of Demigods. By mistake the Lord served them nectar into their mouths. Immediately the lord was informed by the Sun and Moon that those two were demons. As soon as the Lord came to know of this He cut off the heads of both demons. By that time nectar had not passed through their throats. It was still in their mouths. When the Lord cut of their heads , the heads were separated from their bodies. Thus nectar did not pass to the stomach but fell on the ground . (That is the reason why Rahu and Ketu's head are still alive but their bodies were finished.) When their heads were cut off garlic and Onions manifested from this nectar which fell on the ground from the mouth of the two demons. Thus Garlic and Onions are regarded as nectar but not used for the Lord because these are remnants of demons having touched their mouths. Even the nectar touched the mouths of these two demons still garlic and onions act like nectar in curing the diseases. But they are not meant for Vishnu or Vaishnavas. The doctor told me that whoever will eat garlic and Onion, their body will Be very strong like demons body and at the same time their intelligence also will be contaminated like the intelligence of demons.
There are many more reasons why we dont use it... may be some time latter I will publish a blog about it.
While most poisons are derived from plants, we do not consume them for food.. similarly garlic and onion might have some negligible good in them, they also have a lot of bad quality in them.

good question....of course one living entity is food for another...but eating plant is recommended by krishna himself in the gita..see that sloka patram pushpam phalam toyam...it is authorized by krishna so there is no harm in eating it if u first offer it to its real proprietor....and eating meat was never recommended by krishna anywhere...and one more thing since we have not made animals we dont have the right to kill them or consume them....we must take order or instructions from the supreme friend,the supreme enjoyer and the supreme proprietor-krishna-for anything that we do...what he allows can be done fearlessly,otherwise we will only incur sinful reactions..

All living entities have a soul, hence it's a sin to cut it life short by killing.. be it animal or plant.
Physically, the animals nervous system is highly developed and feel terrible pain when harmed in any way. The plant's nervous system is not very highly developed, hence it does not suffer very much. Still it's a sin to harm or kill any of the two.
Our physiology is such that it's suited to processing foods such as grains, veg. and fruits. The animals such as lions on the other hand are suited to kill and digest meat.
Krishna had said as stated in the Bhagavad Gita "
patram puspam phalam toyam yo me bhaktya prayacchati tad aham bhakty-upahrtam asnami prayatatmanah
If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it."
Since everything belongs to Krishna, we have to first offer everything to Krishna then consume the Prasad. So Krishna absolves us from any Karma by Killing plants to offer to Krishna.
There are many other reasons, but a sane person only needs these few to know to MAKE A RIGHT CHOICE.
