  • please also note that -as veeral Gandhi prabhu has said, being vaishnav is not a licence to kill . sins can be overcome by chanting hare krsna .but comitting sins on the strength of holy name is offence . this offence ( naam aparad ) cannot be overcome by any means .
    haribol !
  • hare krsna !
we may protect our body but in doing so we should not harm others .as u know this is adibhautik klesha -misery caused by otheru living entities .this is the law of karma . now if u think killing mosquito is right ,then how many mosquito can u kill ?at the same time u have to keep u body healthy to serve krsna .so what to do ?
killing mosquito sends us to hell & also not killing will make us experience hell . actually this appears similar to the case of bhagvadgita right . arjuna was also confused whether to kill or not . therefore bhagvadgita has the answer to ur problem .
but if u ask me ,we cannot avoid killing . atleast unknowingly we kill many living entities during cleaning ,eating ,walking etc even the vegetable we eat is also living being .so can we stop eating because it is violence on them ?? -no
actually when i had similar question , my senior prabhus told me this " u should not kill unnecessary ,instead use mosquito repellent ,cover the windows with mesh & so on .but if u killed unknowingly u should confess ur guilt before krsna .only he can save us from sins ." read ajamila story ( yamaraja's instruction to yamdutas ) from bhagavatam ;that will perfectly clear ur doubt .
    Finally i will conclude saying
    " sarva dharman parityajya
    mam ekam saranam vraja
    aham tvam sarva papebhyo
    mokshae shyami ma sucah "
abandon all variety of religion & JUST SURRENDER UNTO ME(krsna ). I WILL PROTECT u from all sinful reaction DO NOT FEAR .
-------we have to surrender him ------that is the solution --------
  • Yes, it's stated in the Shrimad Bhagwatam that one attains Andhakupa naraka if one kills insignificant creatures like mosquitoes, bugs etc. There he is attacked by birds, beasts, reptiles, mosquitoes, flies and worms that he has tortured during his life, and he is thus deprived of sleep. Being unable to rest, he just wanders here and there and suffers.

There are some devotees who believe that chanting Hare Krishna gives them an exemption from the hellish regions. Such devotees are requested to act responsibly. Becoming a Vaishnava does not give us a license to commit sins.

We should keep our surroundings clean and tidy so that pest breeding is controlled. When a mosquito comes to bite us, just shove it away. Sleep within a machchardani i.e mosquito net. How much bloodshed will you commit ? If you kill one mosquito, another will come. Himsa or violence kills our punya or good deeds.
