It is recommended in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (2.3.10):

    akāmaḥ sarva-kāmo vā
     mokṣa-kāma udāra-dhīḥ
    tīvreṇa bhakti-yogena
     yajeta puruṣaṁ param

If a person wants to return home, back to Godhead, or wants to become a pure devotee (akāma), or wants some material prosperity (sakāma or sarva-kāma), or wants to merge into the existence of the Supreme Brahman effulgence (mokṣa-kāma), he is recommended to take to the path of devotional service and hear and chant of Lord Viṣṇu or of His devotee. This is the sum and substance of all Vedic literatures.

    Translation:
A person who has broader intelligence, whether he be full of all material desire, without any material desire, or desiring liberation, must by all means worship the supreme whole, the Personality of Godhead.

    However.....

One should chant Hare Krishna Mahamantra for only one purpose. Love of Krishna. Devotion to Krishna.

People who chant Names of the Lord for material benefits is not considered a devotee, by Bhisma, Prahlad, Udhava and Narada.

    CC Madhya 23.8

    bhaktir ity ucyate bhīṣma-
    prahlādoddhava-nāradaiḥ
    Translation:
“ ‘When one develops an unflinching sense of ownership or possessiveness in relation to Lord Viṣṇu, or, in other words, when one thinks Viṣṇu and no one else to be the only object of love, such an awakening is called bhakti [devotion] by exalted persons like Bhīṣma, Prahlāda, Uddhava and Nārada.’
    Purport:

This verse, quoted from the Nārada-pañcarātra, is found in the Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu (1.4.2).

The Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa is described in the Bhagavad-gītā as puruṣottama, or the Supreme Personality. It is He only who can…

    Hare Krsna Prabhuji,

    PAMHO.

We normally chant to get Krsna, not to get wife!

If your sadhana is strong, you are more likely to get someone whose sadhana is equally strong. A wife with a strong sadhana is more likely to be dutiful. Though in my opinion, all wives are dutiful. Our definition may differ. Every girl I know has gone out of her way to adjust to husband and in laws, stretched herself even in times of illness to take care of family. Still there are problems, something or the other, in everyone's life. The idea is to be realistic. Nobody can match our expectations. And there will always be problems. In the middle of that, we have to make it work, that is a marriage.

    Best of luck prabhuji.

    Haribol,

    Your servant,

    Radha Rasamayi DD
