Marijuana looking for a Vedic perspective..

Marijuna is bad because it is addictive. We should become addicted to Krsna nothing else.

Look at gamblers. They are addicted to that gambling. They don't have anything in their mind other than investing time, money everything into it. How can they become attracted to Krishna when they are so busy into something else?

Look at those who are addicted to intoxicants like whisky, wine, beer etc etc. They are putting money, mind everything into that and trying to even forget their real life and responsibliities and prescribed duties. How can they be attracted to Krishna and how will be progress in Bhakti marga and realize higher purpose of life when they invest their life, money and everything into such intoxicants?

Similarly those who take drugs esp. Psychedelic drugs.. They want to forget their traumas in life and painful cicrumstances in life and forget reality and be in fake world so that, for tempoaraily they want to be out of reality. How can those who cannot face the reality of life, face GOD?

God is Truth and one who does drugs has escapist mentality. They cannot face neither reality nor they are able to get attracted to Krishna.

If one accepts one faliures in life and one accepts that he is wrong .. then one can face God and say sorry to Lord and seek forgiveness.

If one cannot accept faliures and one cannot accept that he or she is wrong. and runs away from reality and escapes to some unreal world by taking drugs ( smoking pot)... He or she is just escapist. How can they repent sincerely before God and accept their mistakes and say sorry.

If one wants to really come out of hurt, guilt or trauma in life.. One should become humble and accept their mistakes and be sorry. Face people and be able to give up their ego and say sorry to the other be it people or to God.

If one cannot accept what they are and continur to.. feel guilty and hurt, and do self pity, feel ashamed of self...... simply escape from reality by taking some psychedelic drugs is it a good way to live???

they are than called an escapist rather ...

In bhakti marga you must first accept that you are most fallen and accept that you want to seek repentence and seek shelter of guru and say sorry to God. Once you accept that you are most fallen and fall at the feet of a superior ( Guru) and become humble.. That is first step where you ego falls.

Now these pyschedelic drugs make you an escapist from the reality and you temporarily feel some sort of pleasure because you lose sense with the surroundings and it makes you feel like you have no social anxiety anymore and you feel dissociated from your body feel you lost your ego which is nice but only temporaily.. Than when you come back to your normal senses the situations are the same.. You have to deal with same people. So now you want to be in another world which you experienced and continue drugging taking it repeatedly... which becomes slowly a habit then slowly slowly an addiction.

These type of escapists.. can they be called God realized? or have experience some higher possibilities or higher realizations?

They are just escapists and drug addicts isn't it?

That is why it is not acceptable.

Vedic perspective is.. Lord Shiva is usually seen taking gajna ( marijuna) and he also drank poison as much as a whole sea full of poison.. Now to imitate such high personalities is utter foolishness.

One who can digest a poison ( as big as a whole sea full of poison) can take marijuna and has no effect on HIM because He is God. One who immitate will suffer its consequences.

Lord Śiva can do whatever he likes, but those who try to imitate Lord Śiva by smoking ganja and other poisonous things will certainly be killed because of such activities.( SB canto 8) ( krsna book).
