  • This Vedic knowledge was stated in the Atharva Veda. Later on, just on the beginning of this millenium, the Kali yuga, Vyasadeva, who is the supreme authority of Vedic knowledge, considering the degraded condition of men in this age, divided the whole Veda into departmental knowledge and some of his disciples were entrusted with a particular type of departmental knowledge. In this way the whole Vedic knowledge developed into four Vedas, 108 Upanisads, 18 Puranas, then summarized in Vedanta Sutra, and then again to benefit the less intelligent class of men like women, workers, and the degraded descendants of the higher class he made another fifth Veda known as Mahabharata or the great history of India. Hare Krishna prabhuji,

    PAMHO. AGTSP. AGTSG&SG.

Mahabaratha comes in the category of itihasa (history) of India. This is a epic consisting of 100000 shlokas. Its utterly foolishness for any one to even think that some one can imagine and write something so Hugh like this literature. You can not preach current generation by pure philosophy. If we say, we are soul and Krishna is the supreme personality of  Godhead, they will think we have gone crazy. They need to be preached systematically. If you read the book Discover Your Self by HG Radheshyam Pr, these things are given in very easy to understandable way.

To give some idea on how to handle such people, first of all we should make them realize that direct sense perception and speculation can not give us complete knowledge because our senses are imperfect. The only way to understand the real knowledge is by shabda pramana which is aural reception by a bona fide authority.
