Love needs reciprocation

Hare Krishna All,

PAMHO,

AGTSP!

 We love our mother,father,son,lover etc. and develops through reciprocation and involves senses. Where as it is hard to develop love for Krishna because I dont feel any reciprocation. We chant and do programs and I dont understand what kind of happiness krishna derives from. Has anyone felt his reciprocation and love if so please share your practical experiences from real life. Thank you.

    vision with which i can see the world;

    ears with which i can hear the world;

    hands with which i can sense the world;

    heart with which i can feel love for others or their love for me;

    all my mothers, fathers, siblings, friends....

    WERE ALL GIVEN BY GOPINATH - KRISHNA.

    So it is His love. It is His reciprocation, isn't it?!

    My parents con sieved me but they do not know how I grow, how every detail happens inside the mother. No.

    Only Krishna empowers the body to create another body...

    So examples are so many.

    What to speak of that happiness when we chant the Holy Names;

    What to speak of that happiness when we serve to Deities?

    Simple thing, from the day when i started to chant Hare Krishna Maha Mantra i do not see any bad dreams. It is a very insignificant example.

    Our wife, husband, beloved ones love us because Krishna creates that loving ability.

    So we love them.

    Your servant,

  • PAMHO

    There will be direct reciprocation from Krishna, who is seated in heart. He will directly speak to you and you can percieve it while awakened and while sleeping. But for this , holy name needs to be chanted without any offenses. you should have great love to SUPREME FATHER then he will reciprocate. your body will shiver like anything and tears come out like torrents.

    Bg 10.10

    teṣāṁ satata-yuktānāṁ
    bhajatāṁ prīti-pūrvakam
    dadāmi buddhi-yogaṁ taṁ
    yena mām upayānti te

    Word for word:
    teṣām — unto them; satata-yuktānām — always engaged; bhajatām — in rendering devotional service; prīti-pūrvakam — in loving ecstasy; dadāmi — I give; buddhi-yogam — real intelligence; tam — that; yena — by which; mām — unto Me; upayānti — come; te — they.

    Translation:
    To those who are constantly devoted to serving Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me.

  • Hare Krsna Aakash Prabhu,

    Before I attempt to answer your question, lets see what the meaning of reciprocation in Krsna Consciousness is. We should not confuse it reciprocation in other relationships which is more akin to commerce than reciprocation i.e. give and take. If we are excepting instant things or mundane experiences in Krsna Consciousness then we are looking for wrong thing at wrong place.

    Krsna reciprocates by giving himself (which is purely spiritual) while others reciprocate by giving things or experiences (which is purely material). This reciprocation of Krsna is proportionate to our surrender as mentioned in BG (4.11).

    Now coming to your personal predicament to not feeling any reciprocation. I think you are already being reciprocated. This is the reason that you are thinking about Krsna and looking for reciprocation from him rather than others. Krsna has reciprocated to your desire of achieving him by allowing you and us to chant his name, which are non-different than him. Devotional service is a gift and you have it. Thousands of people visit Iskcon temples everyday. How many of them get the desire to chant everyday and follow regulative principles. Krsna provided you the intelligence and facilities to chant his names, worship his deities, taste his prasad and associate with devotees. Is this not reciprocation of your love to him?

    We can be sure of reciprocation of Krsna by seeing the other unfortunate beings who even though pass through the temple everyday but do not get any desire to engage in Krisna Consciousness. Sometimes even people born in devotee families to devotee parents have no desire to love Krsna. Krsna is reciprocating with you by giving you the desire to achieve him. The ultimate reciprocation of Krsna will be at the time of death when he will ensure that his devotees will go back home back to godhead.

    One humble suggestion is that we should not look for personal experiences from real life. Then we will find instances of seeing krsna in dreams, participating in rasalila, or krsna saving someone from certain death etc. The personal experiences from real life we should look for is from the life of Srila Prabhupada. Maybe you can read his lilamrita (a six volume magnum opus).

    Please pray to the lord to provide you and all of us the sastra chakchhus (eyes) to see his reciprocation in our everyday lives.

    Just trying to serve you in my limited capacity.

  • Hare Krishna Cirag Prabhu,

    How come your example tells anything about reciprocation.

    BTW why would I come and post stupid questions on IDT

    when I get all answers from Krishna in his reciprocation.

    I was expecting answers out of personal real experiences of known

    times.

    Hare KRsna Prabhuji,

    PAMHO.

    So many rishi munis renounced all worldly riches to enter into the spiritual path. If there was no reciprocation, how could they renounce everything. There is reciprocation at every step prabhuji. Pls visit Sridham Mayapur or Vrindavan and experience for yourself the reciprocation of love. The way Krsna welcome you when you visit, it is amazing. You aev to understand though. There is reciprocation at every step prabhu. Otherwise we human beings are so selfish that we will not give up something, unless we get something higher/ better in return.

    Haribol,

    YOur servant,

    Rashmi
