Krishna (Vishnu) lying on a banyan leaf, sucking his toe during dissolution of the cosmos

Hare Krishna Dear Devotees,

For a while, I have wondered the significance behind this most strange act of the Lord. I know that His leelas are incomparable and understandable by only the highest of devotees, and that we as beginners to KC should simply accept them. 

Is there a significance behind why Lord Krishna / Lord Vishnu chose this baby form?
