Hare Krishna all,
AgtSP
When a boy is in love with girl or vice versa, they are always absorbed in their thoughts. Is this love is Krishna or infactuation? Even though they appear to be surrendered to krishna they will have portion of their heart and brain dedicated to the one they love. Is this maya who is making this arrangement to drag us away from krishna or it is krishna's will or our desire to associate with that person?. Sometimes the person will be so dear to us and we just can't ignore him and fall in love with that person, so much so that we forget krishna. Suddenly when we encounter love failure again we go back to krishna, is this krishnas arrangement to show us that all the love in this material world is temporary and conditional. Why this love develops and why it is so much powerful and why it is difficult to love krishna in the same manner ?
Gopis loving krishna is natural, but how a person in a male body can develop such love towards krishna.I know spirit soul is neither male or female but still being in this material body it is difficult to
understand this. Forgive me if I am offensive.
Your servant
Aakash

Hare Krishna I would like to beg to differ with the excuse that everyone can't become Prabhupada no one ever asked you to become Prabhupada but srila Prabhupada has said:
"Only a pure devotee can convert others to pure devotional service. It is therefore important for all the preachers in our Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement to first become pure devotees and follow the regulative principles, refraining from illicit sex, meat-eating, gambling and intoxication. They should regularly chant the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra on their beads, follow the devotional process, rise early in the morning, attend maṅgala-ārati and recite Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam and the Bhagavad-gītā regularly. In this way, one can become purified and free from all material contamination."
He has also spoken likt this to the Gbc Men.
"So you GBC men are my selected few for insuring that what I am doing will be carried on very nicely for the pleasure of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. So now you must all my senior disciples and leaders become very, very much aware of your grave responsibility to the human society for delivering them from the clutches of catastrophe, and be always cool-headed and utilize every moment in the best manner possible. I am successful only because I am following strictly the orders of my Guru Maharaja, and I do not deviate. Therefore people respect what I am saying and they listen because I do not say one thing and do another. So now you are doing my work and you shall be like me and be yourselves the worthy representatives of our disciplic succession."
In fact this following Quote Shows just how much srila Prabhupada expected from us! He wanted all of us to think of each other as master(prabhu) and also how much respect he had for his Disciples we NEVER try to become Srila Prabhupada but this is not an excuse to justify being in maya.
"But the spiritual master does not think of himself as Hari. Although he's offered the respect of Hari, he thinks himself as humble servant of Hari and all others. A spiritual master takes his devo..., disciples as his spiritual master. That is the position. He thinks that "Kṛṣṇa has sent me so many spiritual masters." He does not think himself as spiritual master. He thinks himself their servant. Because they have to be trained. Kṛṣṇa has appointed him to train them. Therefore he thinks himself as servant of the disciples. This is the position. So when one is advanced, he can see the importance of devotees.
Advanced devotee never disobey or disrespect another devotee. Disrespect to another devotee is a great offense. Vaiṣṇava aparādha. Vaiṣṇava aparādha is very serious offense. Therefore we teach to address amongst the devotees, "Prabhu", "Prabhu", "Such and such Prabhu." This should not be simply spoken by the lips. It should be realized. Everyone should think other devotee as his prabhu, master. Not he should try to become master."

So in the material world there cannot be prema. Prema means love. The prema is only possible in the spiritual world. Here, what is going on as love, that is not love, that is lust. A boy loves a girl, a girl loves a boy. That is not love, that is lust. As soon as there is some disturbance in lusty affair, they divorce. So therefore that is not love. So we should note it, that so-called love is bogus in this material world. Love cannot be possible. This very word love, prema, is specially reserved for Kṛṣṇa. Premā pum-artho mahān. That is Caitanya Mahāprabhu's preaching, that the highest perfection of life is to evoke one's dormant love for Kṛṣṇa.
The love is there. It is reserved for Kṛṣṇa, but due to our foolishness, we are distributing that love in so many ways, up to the dog. This is called illusion. We do not know where to apply love. If you see, all these words is touched with the word kāma, kāma. Kāma means lust. There is no question of love. And love ... Prema and kāma is described in Caitanya-caritāmṛta. What is prema and what is... prema and kāma. Ātmendriya-prīti-vāñchā tāra bali kāma (CC Adi 4.165). Kāma. What is lust? Ātmendriya-prīti, to satisfy one's own senses. That is kāma. Here, a boy and girl love. They say "love," but no, it is not love. The boy wants to satisfy his senses, and the girl wants to satisfy her senses. That's all. Therefore, ātmendriya-prīti-vāñchā. Everyone is trying to satisfy her own senses. That is kāma. Lust. And then, what is prema? Kṛṣṇendriya-prīti-icchā dhare prema nāma. When the same propensity is transferred for satisfying Kṛṣṇa's senses... just like gopīs.
Hare krishna Francis prabhu,
Thanks for nice explaination about love and lust. But in recent times I have seen few lovers devoting their entire life in serving their partner who is bed ridden with no hope of recovery. I have seen a boy who serves his partner
who met with an accident and paralysed all her body with no scope of recovery, But he is serving her for many years even though they are not married and where is the question of sense gratification? will you please explain about such devoted partners.
Thank you
