Importance of Pradosham

Vishnu and the other gods, including Brahma, pray to Shiva during Pradosham, especially in the context of a larger crisis like defeating the asuras. While Shiva is the primary focus of Pradosham worship, the act of praying to him is often for the well-being of all, including Vishnu and Brahma, and as a way to seek relief from troubles that affect everyone.
  • The reason for the prayer: The practice of worshipping Shiva during Pradosham originated from a time when the gods prayed to Shiva to help them defeat the asuras.
  • Role of Vishnu and Brahma: While Pradosham is a day primarily dedicated to worshipping Shiva, it is a time when all deities, including Vishnu and Brahma, look to him for divine intervention.
  • Unified devotion: Some traditions emphasize that praying to Shiva during this time is beneficial for all, including Vishnu and Brahma, as they are all interconnected aspects of the divine.

Let us follow Vishnu and Brahma in praying to the parabrahman during pradosham.

Om Namah Shivaya. Hara Hara Shankara Jaya Jaya Shankara.
