Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis
PAMHO
I have a small doubt.
While offering diya to Krishna, can the same wick be used if it has not burnt all the way.
Same doubt for leftover oil in the diya.
Kindly answer me.
Hare Krishna.

Hare Krsna Mataji,
PAMHO.
By offering diya, you mean the panch pradeep that is given at the time of arati? Normally, it is supposed to be 5 battis in one pradeep - thats why its called panch pradeep. THere is no scope for the oil or the wick to remain in that. So everytime, it's 5 fresh battis dipped in ghee.

Thank you very much. Also, I have one more doubt. Should the 5 wicks lighted separately or they should be kept close and lighted once.

Hare KRsna dear Mataji,
PAMHO.
Normally, we keep a brass lamp which has space for 5 wicks. You will find in most ISKCON temple shops if you ask. If you do not have that kind of arati stand as of now, you can use 5 wicks together, though that is not the ideal.

Hare krishna Arrange a clean brass/copper/clay pot and fill it with pure ghee or sesame oil. Place FRESH and NEW cotton wick every time you refill your lamp. This will prevent accidents and bad burning.
