Success in this case isn't judged my material attachment, but by spiritual progress, which is what KC is about entirely.
The essence of the Bhagavad Gita can be summed down to the two most powerful verses (in my opinion) on the Gita.
18.65 and 18.66:
Always think of Me, become My devotee, worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend.
Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear.
This is all we need to do because by thinking about Krishna, by worshiping, serving Krishna, Krishna himself will guide us to live how He wants us to live. This is also stated in 10.10 and 10.11
To those who are constantly devoted to serving Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me.
To show them special mercy, I, dwelling in their hearts, destroy with the shining lamp of knowledge the darkness born of ignorance.
If you want to live by the Gita simply chant the Hare Krishna Mahamantra as many times as you can (the recommended is 16 round a day, not including the times you sing Hare Krishna) and think about Krishna, His leelas, His form, etc. as many times throughout the day. We may be able to chant for 24 hours, but what is stopping us from thinking about Krishna when we wake up, what stops us from thinking of Krishna while eating breakfast or driving/walking to work. We can remember Krishna before we go to sleep, at dinner, while cleaning the house. There really isn't a time where we can't remember Krishna (one may argue that while we sleep we cannot think of Krishna, but my rebuttal is that if you are so eager to see Krishna and serve Krishna, then Krishna WILL appear in your dreams too). It's hard to do, very difficult. But practice makes perfect. Try to remember Krishna as many times throughout the day and chant the Mahamantra, engage in devotional activities, serve the devotees, and keep your mind attached to Krishna's lotus feet as best as you can. All we need to do is show Krishna that we are eager to serve Him, let Krishna handle the rest.
As Lord Chaitanya states in His Sri Sikshastakam -
"I know no one but Krishna as my Lord, and He shall remain so even if He handles me roughly by His embrace or makes me brokenhearted by not being present before me. He is completely free to do anything and everything, for He is always my worshipful Lord unconditionally."
This post is a bit long, so to sum it up in a few words - CHANT / LOVE KRISHNA = ESSENCE OF BHAGAVAD GITA!
(from love, other things such as remembrance, worship/servitude, etc emerges. I just grouped it in one category).
Please forgive me dear devotees if I have stated anything incorrectly.
