Now we are not as great souls as Priyavrat Maharaj or swayambhu Manu or some other people whose life stories are mentioned in Bhagwatam like Jada Bharata who could enjoy reigning their kingdom and had many queens and concubines and enjoyed life to the fullest extreme and when they became old they left everything to their sons and left the kingdom and fled to jungles to practice renunciate life.
Now It is Lord Brahma's dictation to make progeny and reign kingdom they did activities very nicely conducted material life made babies ruled kinddom and with UTMOST EASE they could leave the kingdom and go also when time came.
But we are we able to " let go" of things so easily??
Yeah I know we are not great as those Priyavrat Maharaj and Jada Bharata etc. But we too much clingy to the things which possesses. How to let go of these ??
Because We are all proceeding to death and we know death is going to engulf some day and we should leave all our possessions here and go so we should be mentally prepared for this.
We own a small house. small plot or some jewellery, max. 1 wife, max 1 or 2 kids.
But we are so possessive of these and have developed attachements to these.
Look at these Maharaja's who ruled the kingdoms....had so much property lands and jewellery and money power so many people serving them. so many kids they made ( each maharaj had min. 4-10 mistresses and many kids also.
But how did they leave all these and go?
I am still puzzled that Jada Bharata ji who left all his family, kingship and kingdom and also his own sons, wives behind feld to jungles got so clingy to a deer. that he couldn't bear to even leave it and die in peace.
If such great souls only couldn't overcome attachements then how are we supposed to overcome it?
we are just ordinary souls.
How can we get rid of the attachements?

GETTING ATTACHED TO KRISHNA IS POSSIBLE.
ONE must develop love for the supreme lord.

Btw I also read Bhagwatam. You are reading it but doesn't mean i am haven't read.I did read page to page like you did.
I also know that Bharat maharaj is great but I want to know how they got that much renunciation.
IT IS BECAUSE OF BLESSING FROM GURU. ( NARAD MUNI OR SOME OTHER MUNI WHO ARE VERY VERY Powerful guru's)

Text 38: By the grace of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Mahārāja Priyavrata reawakened to his senses. He divided all his earthly possessions among his obedient sons. He gave up everything, including his wife, with whom he had enjoyed so much sense gratification, and his great and opulent kingdom, and he completely renounced all attachment. His heart, having been cleansed, became a place of pastimes for the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Thus he was able to return to the path of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, spiritual life, and resume the position he had attained by the grace of the great saint Nārada.
Mahārāja Priyavrata acted very wonderfully in the material field of activities, but because he was dealing in sense gratification — ruling his kingdom and dancing to the indications of his beautiful wife

First thing is Narad muni came to them. They were closest to brahma ji as they were first born and in Satyuga. They got enlightenment because NARAD MUNI WAS THEIR GURU.
