Hare Krishna Prabhuji. Dandavat Pranam. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Forgiveness is the symtom of the person situation in transcendental plane, beyond goodness, passion and ignorance. Thise is one of the transcendental qualities as Lord Krishna explaining in BG

BG 16.1-3: The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Fearlessness; purification of one's existence; cultivation of spiritual knowledge; charity; self-control; performance of sacrifice; study of the Vedas; austerity; simplicity; nonviolence; truthfulness; freedom from anger; renunciation; tranquillity; aversion to faultfinding; compassion for all living entities; freedom from covetousness; gentleness; modesty; steady determination; vigor; forgiveness; fortitude; cleanliness; and freedom from envy and from the passion for honor — these transcendental qualities, O son of Bharata, belong to godly men endowed with divine nature.

So to possess the nature of forgiveness we need to gradually transcend the Gunas , starting from ingnorance, then passion and then goodness, then when we ill be elevated in pure-goodness or transcendental stage then we can forgive even the person whom we hate most. To attain that stage we need to constantly chant, associate with devotees and do some service under them, that will help to wash away our false ego, because due to false ego we hate some one or love some one. Its called duality. By service the false ego removes gradually and we will able to see all as of same nature as Krishna and Krishna within all then we will able to forgive everyone. In that stage a person see an enemy or a friend in same vision. Like Krishna saying in BG

BG 5.18 : The humble sages, by virtue of true knowledge, see with equal vision a learned and gentle brāhmaṇa, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater [outcaste].

So we have to attain that stage by continous devotional service and then only we can attain the nature of forgiveness. But in day to day life we can practice to excuse the minor offences of any person, that will not harm us as well as others also. Forgiveness is a virtue and attained by a pure Devotee only.

and to become free from ignorance means to understand that noone is cause to our sufferings rather than our own fault.

We did bad to some people in the past lives and in this life we just get that reaction in the form of bad association from other people so what is the problem?

We have to punish ourselves and try to help to others.

AGAIN: NO ONE IS CAUSE TO OUR SUFFERINGS.

They are just instruments of our karma.

      Your servant,

      • Krishna is the only person who could answer this. Isn't it possible that some one might have hurt us first time without being caused any offence towards them in previous life.

If we are being hurt for our previous births sin, then Pandavas would have been the biggest sinner. Look....... the suffering they have gone through. No human being could go through that suffering. Is it because they were sinners in their previous life. No...Simply No.

Suffering of a pure devotee or personal associates of Lord and suffering of a non-devotee are completely different. Devotee doesn't suffer for their past sinful activities, but Krishna sometime puts his devotees in difficulties to increase his faith more and more in Krishna and also to teach the world How a devotee behaves when he suffers.

But in case of Non-devotee, a non-devotee suffers his/her sinful reaction of past actions. God is not responsible for his suffering. If He wanted people to suffer then He would have never given Vedas, never revealed Knowledge never came to reclaim souls and deliver Bhagavad Gita. A person suffer because of his desire to imitate Krishna, if a man want to be something which he is not in his essential nature, then obviously he will face difficulty as a fish faces difficult if thrown out of water.

Another thing is we should not give opinion like I think, In my opinion if it is not realized, not inline with scriptures and sadhus. This I think, my opinion business will lead to utter confusion. we can't evaluate things which is beyond our perception level. we suffer because we rebell against the law of God.
