Even after following the path of bhakti, lust in various forms still troubles a lot. No doubt that after coming to devotional service, chanting the holy names, the process of cleansing of the heart begins but still out of the blue we still fall down. This creates a great feeling of guilt and at the same it begs the question that how and what to do to fight this sinful enemy of Lust.
Please share regarding whatever you have heard in lectures or read in SP books.

My humble Obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Thanks for your question as this is very pertinent to the current situation in our society where there are so many distractions at each and every turn.
We are so much conditioned that it is extremely difficult for us to come over it by just trying to control these thoughts within our mind and will. We may be able to do so for some time but there are 100% chances that we will fall down.
The only way of coming over it is to plead for Guru's mercy. We should pray to Madhusudana (as he killed the demon named Madhu and our mind with irrelevent thoughts is like this demon) for his mercy.
If you are seriously following the 4 regulative principles, then please wear tulasi mala around your neck. Tulasi Maharani's mercy will surely get us past these thoughts. We should pray for her mercy to keep our thoughts pure. When we wear Tulasi Mala we will think twice before committing any offense even through our thoughts (As told by HG Ananda Dham Prabhu). Tulsi is very auspicious and pure.
Also we should continue chanting the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. Sincere Chanting will surely cleanse the dirt within us.

Q. WHAT IS LUST?
ātmendriya-prīti-vāñchā-tāre bali 'kāma'
kṛṣṇendriya-prīti-icchā dhare 'prema' nāma
"The desire to satisfy one's own senses is called lust, while the desire to satisfy the senses of Kṛṣṇa is called prema, love of God"
(Sri Caitanya Caritamrta--1:4:165).
One who accepts material sense objects as desirable certainly becomes attached to them. From such attachment lust arises, and this lust creates quarrel among men. (Srimad Bhagavatam--11:21:19--translation).
The enemy has captured different strategic positions in the body of the conditioned soul, and therefore Lord Kṛṣṇa is giving hints of those places, so that one who wants to conquer the enemy may know where he can be found. Mind is the center of all the activities of the senses, and thus when we hear about sense objects the mind generally becomes a reservoir of all ideas of sense gratification; and, as a result, the mind and the senses become the repositories of lust. Next, the intelligence department becomes the capital of such lustful propensities. Intelligence is the immediate next—door neighbor of the spirit soul. Lusty intelligence influences the spirit soul to acquire the false ego and identify itself with matter, and thus with the mind and senses. The spirit soul becomes addicted to enjoying the material senses and mistakes this as true happiness. This false identification of the spirit soul is very nicely explained in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (10.84.13):
yasyātma-buddhiḥ kuṇape tri-dhātuke
sva-dhīḥ kalatrādiṣu bhauma ijya-dhīḥ
yat-tīrtha-buddhiḥ salile na karhicij
janeṣv abhijñeṣu sa eva go-kharaḥ
"A human being who identifies this body made of three elements with his self, who considers the by-products of the body to be his kinsmen, who considers the land of birth worshipable, and who goes to the place of pilgrimage simply to take a bath rather than meet men of transcendental knowledge there, is to be considered like an ass or a cow
(Bhagavad-Gita--3:40--purport).
While contemplating the objects of the senses, a person develops attachment for them, and from such attachment lust develops, and from lust anger arises.
(Bhagavad-Gita--2:62--translation).
When a living entity comes in contact with the material creation, his eternal love for Kṛṣṇa is transformed into lust, in association with the mode of passion. Or, in other words, the sense of love of God becomes transformed into lust, as milk in contact with sour tamarind is transformed into yogurt. Then again, when lust is unsatisfied, it turns into wrath; wrath is transformed into illusion, and illusion continues the material existence. Therefore, lust is the greatest enemy of the living entity, and it is lust only which induces the pure living entity to remain entangled in the material world. Wrath is the manifestation of the mode of ignorance; these modes exhibit themselves as wrath and other corollaries. If, therefore, the mode of passion, instead of being degraded into the mode of ignorance, is elevated to the mode of goodness by the prescribed method of living and acting, then one can be saved from the degradation of wrath by spiritual attachment.
(Bhagavad-Gita--3:37--purport).
Lust is only the perverted reflection of the love of God which is natural for every living entity. But if one is educated in Kṛṣṇa consciousness from the very beginning, that natural love of God cannot deteriorate into lust. When love of God deteriorates intolust, it is very difficult to return to the normal condition. Nonetheless, Kṛṣṇa consciousness is so powerful that even a late beginner can become a lover of God by following the regulative principles of devotional service. So, from any stage of life, or from the time of understanding its urgency, one can begin regulating the senses in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, devotional service of the Lord, and turn the lustinto love of Godhead—the highest perfectional stage of human life. (Bhagavad-Gita--3:41--purport).

Even Lord Brahma was not able to concur this lust. even sometimes Yudhishtra Maharaja used to say that his mother is so cute that creates lust. then Maharaja was asked that what does he do in those situations. He told that he tolerates and prays to Krishna to save him.

the things we have to do:
--because senses are very active we have to occupy them with 9 processes of Devotional service.
--eyes like to see, gaze-look to Krishna's Deity
--ears want to hear - always hear lectures, the Holy Names, kirtans
--tongue wants to speak and eat-eat Prasadam, preach of Krishna, chant the Holy Names.
--in order to occupy movable senses in Devotional service we have to worship deities. If You live at home then have Deities and worship to Them. Decorate Them.
