Very pained to know the situation you are in but more pained to know that you are blaming yourself for the current sorry state of your life.

These morose feelings arise to non-devotees and even to devotees who are new to Krishna consciousness. The more we advance in Krishna consciousness, the more we starts getting detached from materialistic activities and feelings related to body and people related to us at bodily platform. Our field of activities start expanding and we start feeling compassion for all, not only the humans but also animals, trees, insects etc. we start feeling pain to see the tress and plants and animals around us suffering without basic necessities like food, water, sometimes we see helplessly trees, plants being uprooted and animals being killed in slaughter houses and people enjoying their meat. All of us under illusion accept bodily relations as our own and accordingly get sufferings and illicit desires to satisfy our senses or try to satisfy the senses of our so called loved ones. We are roaming in this material world since time immemorial and we had thousands and thousands of parents, brothers, sisters, relatives, friends in each and every life whether human or animal or trees etc. those we think are our own may be our enemies in past lives and those we think strangers and neglect, may be they would have related to us in earlier lives. So we should increase our sphere of activities, we should increase our family, we all are one family, children of one Father, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krishna. So as a good children, we should have only one task with us, how to serve our Father, how to make him happy. We don’t have to blame the father for our sufferings or ask for any thing. Being a father, he knows what our need is and it will be provided to us at the appropriate time. Like kids, they never bother about their basic needs, they just play and enjoy life. They are sure that they will be taken care by their parents whatsoever situation may arise.

Stop blaming yourself for all what had happened, the past has gone, it cannot come back, instead concentrate on present moment and future life. By now you must be aware that we are not these bodies, we are eternal spirit souls and part and parcel of Supreme Lord. So we are eternal and will always remain eternal, it is clearly mentioned by Krishna that soul is eternal and can never die by any means. Without God’s approval, even a leaf cannot move. We know everything in this world has a manufacturing and expiry date. Nobody arrives here prematurely and no one goes from here before his due date. So your husband and son both have lived the fixed duration of their life. So stop blaming yourself, you are not so powerful enough to relieve someone from the miseries of this material world.

If you still feel that you have committed any violence, then please read Bhagvad GIta as it is, wherein Krishna had said that Real violence is not to the body but to the soul i.e. if we do not enlighten others about our real self, our aim of life and relation with God then we are commiting violence.

Mataji, you should not repent for your husband and son soul as soul is eternal and eternally related to the Supreme Lord and He is the real maintainer for all of us. We are just playing our part, Krishna is serving his children (our family members) through us. We are just a medium. We don’t have any household, it is Krishna household. So don’t worry, wherever your husband and son are, Krishan would be maintaining them like he is maintaining all of us.

īśvaraḥ sarva-bhūtānāṁ

hṛd-deśe 'rjuna tiṣṭhati

bhrāmayan sarva-bhūtāni

yantrārūḍhāni māyayā

The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone's heart, O Arjuna, and is directing the wanderings of all living entities, who are seated as on a machine, made of the material energy.

Arjuna was not the supreme knower, and his decision to fight or not to fight was confined to his limited discretion. Lord Kṛṣṇa instructed that the individual is not all in all. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, or He Himself, Kṛṣṇa, the localized Supersoul, sits in the heart directing the living being. After changing bodies, the living entity forgets his past deeds, but the Supersoul, as the knower of the past, present and future, remains the witness of all his activities. Therefore all the activities of living entities are directed by this Supersoul. The living entity gets what he deserves and is carried by the material body which is created in the material energy under the direction of the Supersoul. As soon as a living entity is placed in a particular type of body, he has to work under the spell of that bodily situation. A person seated in a high-speed motor car goes faster than one seated in a slower car, though the living entities, the drivers, may be the same. Similarly, by the order of the Supreme Soul, material nature fashions a particular type of body to a particular type of living entity to work according to his past desires. The living entity is not independant. One should not think himself independant of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The individual is always under His control. Therefore his duty is to surrender

Mataji, as it will be clear from above, we all are acting under the spell of Maya (illusory energy) and all our activities are under the control of Krishna. We are provided a body as per our desires and karmas to suffer for bad activities or reap of results of our good activities. What happened to you is result of your past activities and what you want for you and your husband and son in future lives depends on your current and future state of mind and activities. Only you can help yourself and your family. Make up your mind, get fully involved in Krishna Consciousness movement. If you really want to help your son and husband soul to get liberation, then you have to stop this repentance and get up and work for Krishna with full devotion, direct your love and feelings towards Krishna and His devotees. You are not the only suffering in this world, this material world is full of suffering and it is termed as temporary and full of miseries by Lord Krishna. Everyone is suffering at every moment from one or other problems. This world is so created so that we can try to get out from this as soon as possible and this can happen only using this human form of life. So don’t waste your human form in repenting, soul never dies, you will never die, we all will never die, but we should try to get out of this temporary material world, we should get out from the cycle of birth and death. So stop wasting time in useless pondering over useless thoughts, stop feeling guilty, We are guilty if we don’t utilize this human form of life in dovetailing our consciousness with the Supreme Lord Krishna. You can help in preaching work, distributing Srila Prabhupada books, Mandir marjan (cleaning of Iskcon temple done mostly on 2^nd Sunday), preparing or distributing Krishna prasadam. If you will do these activities, then you will become dear to Krishna and then not only you but your family members as well as your ancestors will get shelter at His lotus feet from where we don’t have to come back to suffer in this material world.

Our past births had gone and now not in our hand but we can create our future destiny, future bodies whether material for enjoying this world or heavenly abode or spiritual body to go back to Krishna, its in our hand. Moreover if we are working in full Krishna consciousness, only then we can escape from material clutches as well as escape from the sufferings of our past sinful activities. This is the only philanthropic activity you can do for your husband and son, the more you are devoted toward to Krishna and work for Him, the more you are relieving yourself and your family from the cycle of birth and death and one day you all can meet and recognize your family members in the spiritual world (it depends upon your efforts to help them relieve from cycle of birth and death). So if you are really serious to help your husband and son, then vigorously take part in Krishna consciousness movement. Work with other devotees, preach, distribute Srila Prabhupada books and make yourself and your loved ones dear of Krishna. Only going to temple and saying that you don’t get any relief there, will not help. It will never help you. Going to Iskcon is necessary where we get devotes association, eating Krishan prasadam, chanting, dancing all are necessary to be more spiritually inclined but we have to work in Krishna consciousness, only then we will be able to help our suffering souls and our ancestors suffering souls. So take initiation from a spiritual master and get involved in spreading Krishna consciousness all over the World. There are lots of suffering souls all around us who are unaware about importance of human life, their real self, their relationship with God and what is the real aim of life.

Because we are part and parcel of Krsna, so the part and parcel must remain with Krsna.

So we have to become associate of Krsna, as Arjuna became. Always with Krsna -- eating with Krsna, sitting with Krsna, talking with Krsna, joking with Krsna, fighting with Krsna -- everything Krsna. That is wanted. Not a single moment without Krishna.

Therefore Krsna certifies, bhakto 'si priyo 'si me: "My dear Arjuna, you are very dear to Me." Naturally if Arjuna is always with Krsna, sitting with Krsna, talking with Krsna, consulting with Krsna, joking with Krsna, eating with Krsna, so why he should not be very dear?

At the present moment we are captured and being tortured by four terrorists known as birth, death, old age, and disease. They are terrorizing us again and again, birth after birth. Even though it hopelessly seems impossible to ever escape their grip, if we simply take shelter of Lord Sri Krishna we can easily escape them. This is confirmed as follows in the Bhagavad-gita:

daivī hy eṣā guṇa-mayī

mama māyā duratyayā

mām eva ye prapadyante

māyām etāṁ taranti te

"This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature, is difficult to overcome. But those who have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it."--Bhagavad-gita 7.14

It is not difficult to surrender to Krishna. All you have to do is chant His names with love, and He will bless you to become His surrendered devotee.

Why is it that even though life is meant for enjoyment that practically everyone in this material world is miserable? Even the wealthy, famous, and successful are miserable, so what to speak of those who are struggling every day like beasts of burden simply to fill their bellies and get a place to lie down and sleep at night.

Ans: The reason that misery has become the common denominator of the human society is that everyone has a false conception of who they are. Everyone wants self-satisfaction, but since they do not know what is the actual self, even though they endeavor ever so strenuously for satisfaction, they never actually achieve it. It is something like trying to build up your bank balance by making deposits into the wrong account. It will never be successful. So if you want actual satisfaction, you need to know scientifically who are as an eternal spiritual being and then always act for your ultimate welfare by reviving your lost loving relationship with the Supreme Spirit, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Question2 : Does Initiation Guarantee Liberation?

Does initiation from the bona fide spiritual master guarantee that we will go back to Godhead? Or is it that we might take birth again, if we fall down? What if we do not fall down in spiritual progress?

Answer: Only If One Strictly Follows Sri Guru

If you accept initiation and strictly follow your spiritual master's instructions, your going back to home at the end of this lifetime is assured. However, if you deviate from his instructions and maintain your material attachments, you will be facilitated by Lord Krishna to satisfy your material desires by being granted another birth in this material world. So the key is that, if one wants to become free from all material miseries for all of eternity, one should take complete shelter of the bona fide spiritual master and undeviatingly follow his instructions throughout one's entire life.

But now it is nice that You understood Your mistakes. And now regretting.

But what to do? Lamentation is not a solution.

only thing is accepting our own fault then regretting then bowing down to Krishna we have to beg for forgiveness. Only He can help us. Even we are the worst jackal only Sri Nama Prabhu forgives us.

Only Sri Nama Prabhu is the best solution for everyone: whether we are worldly or heavenly or hellishly.

No one else!

People may leave us! our relatives will turn their faces from us but only prayers with chocking voice with hot tears flowing as like rivers from our red eyes can give us some hope.

Only after such like prayerful chanting we can become free from those sins and remove our material attachments.

please believe me it is only solution!

in all of us 's lives there are so many difficulties, not only in Yours.

we also suffer, cry, loose hope...but only hope and Person who is always with You is Sri Nama Prabhu!

You may think about getting married again and have family again. maybe it is normal, but in Vedic culture chaste women did not used to do that. Here You have to think and take advices from senior Devotees.

Only after such like prayerful chanting we can become free from those sins and remove our material attachments.

in all of us 's lives there are so many difficulties, not only in Yours.

we also suffer, cry, loose hope...but only hope and Person who is always with You is Sri Nama Prabhu!

You may think about getting married again and have family again. maybe it is normal, but in Vedic culture chaste women did not used to do that. Here You have to think and take advices from senior Devotees.

You are correct, I have very less devotee association. I see why it is important. So, please provide me with internet radio links, as I spend more time overseas than in Delhi.

For personal association, I go to temple when I am in Delhi. Not everyone is bad there, but I cannot trust people so easily. I had some bad experiences.

How am I responsible for their untimely death? I had very bad marriage itch. (If you do not know what it is, ask some married woman.) It went too far. He could not understand it and I felt we are incompatible. Before I could realize my mistake and come back, he was gone.

On my son, I cannot even talk.

As I read about your cousin, my pain comes live. My heart goes out to her. Please console her and read her BG. It is only book which can give her some comfort.

  the best thing is to go as quickly as possible to Goloka by taking this process of Krishna Consciousness very seriously.
  
  we think that our husband or wife will be with us every time but in the reality no one no one no one except Krishna will be with us at the time of death.

    Thank you Bhaktin Maral. I know the right path is to come to Krishna Consciousness and miseries fill this world. One should strive for higher planes. But my miseries are created by my actions. I do not find peace even in temple.
    
    My husband was a good person. My marriage itch made me feel that we were incompatible. I could see his fault everywhere. In course of time, I became friendly with a co-worker. It was not an affair really speaking, but it was certainly wrong. One day, my husband came to know about it. I got afraid and ran away to my mother's house in Jaipur(near Delhi). Few weeks later, he started calling me. I left for Mumbai to a friend's place and took a job there. After some time, he passed away. Before leaving, he called many times on my phone. I cannot tell all that happened, but this is from surface. I feel emptiness of not fulfilling him. He was in middle age and I killed him due to my actions.
    
    I lost my senses then. My mother-in-law suffered heart attack on this shock, but fortunately she survived. My actions hurt a mother, I got the result soon. Ten months later, my son went out for party with his friends. Their car barely reached the corner of the street when a passing truck hit them. He was on front left side, but he was only one killed in accident. This whole episode runs in my mind again and again.
    
    I feel tied to sorrow, I am worldly person. Please forgive me that I am not able to take your advice in the spirit you want me to take. Please suggest something more on the level of worldly people.

Hare Krishna mataji!!! I extend my sympathy to your bereavement. As far as Karma is concerned, it only exists as long we confine ourselves to the domain of this material world. I have no knowledge in scriptures. I tell you something from my practical experience. My life is a witness to many fragile relationships. My best friends have abandoned me due to several misunderstandings. I used to think I would never have the privilege of a successful friendship until Krishna came in my life. Formerly, I would put the blame on my karma, thinking I must have hurt my nearest ones in my previous life, so they put this hex on me. But as I embraced Krishna in my life ,everything just changed and the vacuum was filled with love. There is no want in my life. Life is so complete and perfect. So, karma exists as long as you cage yourself in this world. Say for once, 'Krishna, I'm Yours.' The moment you belong to Him, all your Karmas will burn to ashes and you will be free. As Prabhupada says, 'Krishna consciousness is the stage of freedom and perfection'

My son died in a car accident. I was responsible for it. My husband died due to cardiac arrest. I gave him that.

I travel overseas for work and to keep busy. I chant in flight. Still my pain, my guilt don't go, it has been so many years. I had a very happy life, I had all one can ask. But it went away in two mistakes. My heart is pacified by kirtan, but my soul pains. Help me if you can.

I lost my husband in 2008 Jan and then only son in Dec of the same year. Someone in the temple said that it is all karma incurred from past life. Does it mean I killed someone? Will I pay so many lives?

unlimited. countless. from the time of immemorial.

Karma means activities and according reactions. There is also Krishna karma. If we do Krishna karma then we will go to Goloka Vrindavan and never come back again.

What does it mean Krishna karma?

Whatever we do we have to do in order to please Krishna. When we act in order to please material senses then we will again be with Maya. But when we please the senses of Krishna we will be with Krishna.
