Hare Krishna Dear Devotees, please accept my humble obeisances and sincere apologies for all Aparadhas.

I have just bought a cake from a pure vegan restaurant that is Halal so I thought it would be alcohol free. Typically, the restaurant also offers goods that are Halal always. But anyway, I still see Vanilla Extract on one of the Ingredients labels.

As Vaishnavas, can we consume vanilla extract even if it has alcohol? I am asking as I have seen many recipes on IDT where it is listed.

  • Hare Krishna,

Vaishnavites make cakes at home ( eggless and with NOT VANILLA EXTRACT). Extract is always having alchohal extract.

Vaishnavites take bean and slit it and collect the seeds inside the bean mix it with sugar and grind it to make use in Cakes or any sweet, icecream making.

  • Bro bro halal is an Islamic word it means that the Muslim cook has spit in the recipe. according to them's spitting in the food makes it pure . this is known to the whole world how is that you do not know? I wouldn't even offer such a food to a dog then what to speak of offering to the deities. No Hindu writes halal on their products

    • Correction "" what to speak about consuming""
