Srila Prabhupada used to give the example of Dr. Frog who used to live in a well and used to think that the whole creation is this well and there is nothing beyond that well. Only when he got out of the well and saw the outside world, did he knew how big creation exist beyond the well.

Similarly, the understanding of beauty for us is some one who is fair and handsome having a six or eight pack abs... and so on... But this is not true. Since we do not remember of seeing Krishna in actual, we think of how can a person who is black be soo beautiful???? In the path of spirituality, one has to learn seeing throw the eyes of scriptures - shastra chakshu. By reading scriptures and by hearing it from a bona fide authority, one can get proper understanding of the beauty of Krishna.

SP writes in many places the description of Krishna. He says that Krishna has the complexion of a fresh monsoon cloud which is blueish black which we might have not seen so far in this lifetime, his eyes are like lotus petals, his lips are like reddish like bimba fruit and so on...

SP was explaining one devotee who was to paint the picture of Krishna how he killed many demons who were big big monsters... Then the devotee thought that Krishna must be having hugh biceps and triceps and drew a pic having such a physical appearance. When Prabhupada saw it, he laughed at it and said Krishna is not having muscles like this.. his limbs are very soft and tender. But however, they are much stronger than the thunderbolt. That is Krishna.

If Krishna is God... supreme God, then he has to be the most beautiful person. If you still have any doubt in how can BLACK be beautiful, then I suggest you visit Vrindavan to see it your self...

This is the complexion of Krishna. His hue is bluish like a blue sapphire.

Hare Krishna!!! Krishna is not black but blue, 'nilamani vayam'.

He is ‘nilam’ – like beryl. He is blue– complexioned and the embodiment of the erotic ras. The colour of the erotic ras is ‘Shyâm’ –i.e. ‘nil’ . Sri Bharat Muni has written in Nâtyashâstra –

“The erotic ras is blue in colour.”

    Sri Krishna is Shringâr(Eros) personified.

(A friend told Râdhârâni) –”Dear friend Râdhe! Sri Krishna, Who is charmed by the Gopis, is engrossed in performing sports as if He is theShringâr-ras personified.” – (Geet–Govindam)

Sri Bhatta Goswâmipâd has explained ‘nilam’ -

“Sri Krishna’s bodily splendour is like the fully bloomed blue–lotus – hence He is the whole essence of Shringâr–ras.”

It is an offense to speak like this. we see Krsna through materially contaminated eyes, which are devoid of spiritual vision, then only we can speak like this.

Please do nt take any offense.Plz forgive if I hurt u.
