Prathama Pada means the first part. It is not a cycle like the yuga cycle.

Kalpa is equal to 4.32 billion years, a "day of Brahma"(does not mean the whole day only the day time)or one thousand mahayugas . A kalpa is a day of Brahmā, and one day of Brahmā consists of a thousand cycles of four yugas, or ages: Satya, Tretā, Dvāpara and Kali. Brahma lives 1 hundred of such years. Thats all I know.
