Can we hear Shuddha Nama Sankirtan / Pure Name Sankirtan on digital devices ? Does it has same effect as that of real association ? It is said listening to Pure Name gives removes Anarthas and manifest Name , Form and Pastimes in heart of devotees . Will electronic sound do that ? Like Kirtans of Srila Prabhupada and Aindra Prabhu

I had exact same question a few years ago and I presented this question to a sincere Prabhupad disciple, HG Padhyeya Das Prabhu, He said that Hare Krishna Maha mantra is transcendental, and not material. When Prabhupada is singing in person or on a speaker or recording is all transcendental. Please listen to the pure devotee Prabhupada chanting Hare Krishna Maha mantra and other bhajans. In due course of time, we will surely be purified of our anarthas.
  • Yes, it has same effect as hearing directly from pure devotees direclty.
Shudha nama sankirtana means those who sung with pure devotion for lord and those who are pure devotees.
who are prefectly practising 4 regulative principles and who have undergone second initiation
those devotees if they sing and if we get chance to hear even if it thru electronic devices gives the same effect as real association.
The Mahamantra is sung my various artists even filmy singers
but the effect of hearing it from the mouth of pure devotee is totally different.
    It will remove anarthas.
    Hare Krishna.

  • By Shudhda Naam Sankirtan I assume/I suppose you are referring to Harinaam Sankirtan or Hare Krishna Maha Mantra.

    >>Can we hear Shuddha Nama Sankirtan / Pure Name Sankirtan on digital devices ?>>
    Yes.

    >>Does it has same effect as that of real association ?>>
Yes for sure. But if you get a chance to chant in congregation or in association with devotees, that should be first priority. "Kirtana always takes place in a congregation of saintly people, as indicated by the prefix sam, meaning “all together,” or “congregationally.” The prefix sam may also act as an intensive, connoting “perfect” or “complete” kirtana. Therefore sankirtana carries the sense that when kirtana is performed congregationally, the glorification of God and the calling of man is perfect or complete."

Other times, definitely listening to kirtan and lectures in digital devices or in other words using material things or channelizing material things/items for spiritual use is the way to go.

    Yes, definitely it will.
