    Hare Krsna PRabhuji,

    PAMHO.

I will attempt to answer to the extent I know. Shiva has been described as a param vaishnav in Srimad Bhagawatam. He is unborn.

Devotees of Shiva, however, are mostly in tamoguna, because he is the presiding God of Tamoguna.

There are instances where Shiva directs the sincere seeker to Krsna. We have read stories on this very forum. So it is not something that happens only in scriptures, it has happened in real life also.

What I know of Shiva devotees is that - they are after material opulence and fulfilling their desires. Worship of SHiva is not like devotion to Krsna, where we say yatha tatha va lampato, regardless of what You do to me, accept me or not, You are my lord and master and I want to love and serve only You. Shiva devotees are interested in making their life on earth very comfortable and always ask for material benefits.

    Haribol,

    Your servant,

    Radha Rasamayi DD

  • The devotees of Lord Shiva can get transcendental knowledge by his mercy, achieve mukti or liberation, get sidhis,...but non of them are dear so much to Shiva as devotees of Lord. There is nobody in the universe who is more dear to him then those with waked deep love for Lord, neither nobody  will ever be.

Anyway, shivaists usually do not wake  transcendental love for Lord, which is most precious thing in the universe. Its most precious because it can very attract Supreme Lord. And not only that, its a tool to control Him, the Supreme Personality, who has all the universe fully under control. That's why Lord is not independent at all, being under control of those with deep love for Him.

  • The difference between them is that on end of universe only Vaikutha remains, all other lokas are destroyed.

The pure devotees such as Brahma, Shiva, Narada, Prahlada,...are immortal no matter where they are, being immortal only because mercy of the Lord.
