You can keep Govardhan shila at home, in your altar. Like how you pray in your altar, include Govardhan in all aratis and offerings.
Though I dont know if there are specific rules for praying to Govardhan, I think you should observe Govardhan puja if you keep the Shila at home altar. Maybe the date neednt coincide with local temple date, you can do within a week of the local temple date. You have to make 56 items and offer (including drinks, sweets, fruits).
