Good Name

Hare Krishna! 

I am a fairly new devotee seeking a spiritual master so that I may be initiated.  So far, it's been taking quite some time, however I know Krishna will provide one for me.  I would like to know if it is possible to change my name without initiation, even if it is temporary.

    If you are living far from a temple, you should look into Sriman Sankarshan das Adhikari.

    He is easy to contact and highly advanced in Krishna consciousness.

    Such like name calls as a "baby name". Sometimes Devotees have such like names in order always to hear the Holy Names. For example, we with our friends have our nicknames. And we among ourselves call each other with those names. Names like Hari Priya, Vishnu Priya, Krishnalaulya...

    So it is ok if You call Yourself in this way.

        I have been seeking a Spiritual Master for six months now and I have been finding it a challenge.  Where I live is so far away from the temple.  I do try to manage getting there once a week.  I have tried to reach out to the devotees of the temple, however, I haven't been able to connect with anyone.  Most of the devotees live very close to the temple so they have gotten to know each other very well.  I still feel as though I am sort of an outsider.  I would like to be initiated.  It looks like it may take some time.  I will choose a temporary name for myself until then.
