Godrum Dwip

        Indra , the king of all the demigods,became very much boastful of himself.To demolish his pride, Lord Krisna instructed the havitants of Giri Gobordhon not to worship Indra any more. Being very much angry,Indra tried to submerge completely the whole area by incessant rain for 7 days. But Lord Krisna then eleveted the whole Giri Gobordhon on the tip of his little fingre so that those people can find shelter beneath the Gobordhon.

        After 7 days Indra realised the lila of his Lord as well as he felt also his serious offence.Then Indra along with his holy Surobhi cow came to this Godrum Dwip and penanced here asking forgiveness of Lord Krisna under a big Ashathha tree.

         Also a great sage,namely, Markanda Muni penanced here and got the grace of Lord Chainya Probhu.

    Srila Bhaktivinode Thakur's bhajan kutir, a holy place where so many personalities used to visit.
