Hare Krishna Devotees...
Please accept my humble obeisances...
Please share your experiences during your transition from an "earthly being to a spiritual being"..
Do we feel any distress (mentally/physically) in the beginning ?
How can we figure out our transition ?

Hare Krishna dear Devotees, please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
In the beginning one becomes very fanatic. And will think that my religion is the best, others' are bad people, i am following the perfect thing, you are wrong, you should stop your nonsense. sometimes we become aggressive.
-------Solution- try to be with Devotees and hear from them Srimad Bhagavatam, render service in the Temple, distribute books, Prasadam.
If one is serious enough then in the beginning half-two years Krishna will give so much that that Bhakta will be in bliss. He will be enthusiastic to perform strong sadhana. Dances, sings...very happy!
He will see all the Devotees greater than him. He will respect them. He will be submissive.
And time passes, the Holy Name starts to clean up the mind from dirt-coverings. And one starts to see the reality. He will become little bit proud. And will have tendency to find faults in others. By doing this he will loose taste for chanting.
Durdaivan idrisham...
-----------Solution: in any cases we should control our tongue, mind from bad words, thoughts. We should learn the philosophy of Srimad Bhagavatam very seriously otherwise if we do not have knowledge we will loose our faith. Very dangerous. And always pray to Krishna and to Devotees to protect our Bhakti, to protect us from falling.
Even in we see bad qualities even in senior Devotees we should not offense them. This world is made of faults. But we should become angry to ourselves for our own faults and by prayers, service try to remove them.
And when we chant the Holy Names in this mood of humility, tolerance, respecting everyone, and not waiting for respect to ourselves then our material desires will start to run away.
We will start to loose desire for watching TV, materialistic talks, opposite sex, too much money....
and on the place of those desires will come desire to chant more, to serve more, to read more.
