Exercise from Lord Krishna

This exercise was given by Lord Krishna. First, I look at his image on a poster for 2-3 minutes, without thinking anything in particular. I just look at him. Then I continue looking at the image, but I think specifically about Lord Krishna. I think calmly, without praying, without expecting anything. After 3-4 minutes, the real part of the exercise begins. I continue looking at Krishna, but I think about His essence - what He feels, what He thinks, what He desires. After a while, the thought stops on its own and I start just feeling. Once this process begins, the thought should not be turned on again, for example, start thinking about what exactly you feel. Just feel for as long as possible. The result is great, surprising, incomparable. With the exercise, you feel God and learn different things about Him. Then a person feels light as a feather, kind, joyful, optimistic, flying instead of walking.

  •  Hare Krishna,

I like this exercise.  Nice way to meditate on the form of Lord.

Naam, Roop, dhaam and leela  are the ways to meditate upon.

In gaudiya samapradaya it is Naam.  We take the holy name of Lord and while chanting Mahamantra to have focus we watch the picture or deity of Lord and focus on the  ROOP  or form of the Lord.

Then we also try to remember the dhaam * the Holy land of Vrindavan" and  sometimes even get to do smarana of leelas of Lord.

Holy name chanting without expecting anything just chanting while focussing on the picture or deity is simply perfect method.

If you are experiencing some good feelings and feeling Lord's presence while doing this activity.. It is great. Keep doing whatever that makes you feel closer to Krishna.

Ultimately Krishna consciousness is being Conscious of Krishna's presence.

Process maybe chanting or roop dhyana  ( meditation on form) or Leela smarnaa ( remembering his pastimes) enjoying the company of Lord is a beautiful experience.

Not all can get to that state so easily so don't share your experiences it is not worth it.

I don't know where Lord Krishna mentioned this method in which book though?

But whatever connects you to Krishna. Include chanting Holy name as well. :-)

Chant Mahamantra and focus on the form of Lord while chanting. best method mentioned by aacharyas ( teachers of vedic tradition).

    Hare Krishna

  • Hare Krishna mataji

How are you going to "think" about what lord feels, thinks and wants? He is beyond understanding.

We find these things in scriptures, but think is a bit not correct, perhaps.

Also where did lord Krishna give this excercise?

    • Hare Krishna The words I use to describe the exercise are the exact ones I was told. I practiced them and had a wonderful experience. Do you find anything risky in the exercise? If not, what's the problem with trying it? And then let's discuss whether God is unknowable.
