i wanted to ask , about Ekadasi, i just read about Sat-LIla Ekadasi story and what is supposed to be done on the day, and i wonder do we really need to do all that? as there is no qualified brahmana in this age? i also wanted to ask can we open Ekadasi fast with normal food (non-prasadam) ?

In the description of Sat Tila Ekadashi, its also mentioned in case of somethings which are unobtainable which other items could be substituted. "no Qualified Brahmana", who are we to judge who is and who is not? Many times Krishna has tested the devotees by becoming a beggar etc. Just have faith in Krishna and don't judge.
While it's possible to break fast with "non-prasadam", it would defeat the purpose of doing Ekadashi. The purpose for doing Ekadashi fast is to become more Krishna conscious and the secondary benefit is the boon thats obtained when successfully completing the said Ekadashi.
In my opinion, if one does not have anything(grains) cooked then even a grain of uncooked rice offered with Tulsi leaf to Krishna can be taken. The main thing is to only consume Prasadam.
