Hare Krishna all,
PAMHO,
AGtSP!,
I stopped eating onion and garlic from last 5 years and I dont feel any change. As per scriptures
there differnt version of stories for not eating onion and garlic. Anyway, I want to know why onion
and garlic is not offered to krishna? I have seen temples who offer bhog which has onion or garlic in it (ofcourse not ISKCON temples). Where it is mentioned that krishna doesnt accept onion and garlic. I have read many articles about not eating onion and garlic, but I am not convinced. I just want to know where did krishna mentioned that it should not be offered to him. Is it a culture of few temples or is there any vedic evidence? FYI I am still not eating onion and garlic. Honestly speaking I feel I am missing many palatble vegetarian dishes. I hope this doesnt hurt or disturb anyone. Thank you.

Even chillies n there are many other vegetables that is not helpful in devotional service. These food are only for people who want to enjoy the food but this mentality makes us identify with our body. The devotee of lord vishnu must not eat anything which will make him want more n more food even if has already fill his stomach.Normally when these vegetables are present in one food we lose control over our mind.A great example is chillies who make u run everywhere for water. It makes u lose balance n is contrary to the calm state of mind that krsna explains in Gita for which devotees must aspire for.
