Does kaliyuga resides in Gold ?

Hare Krishna dear devotees, Dandavat Pranam

I have wore yellow sapphire in a gold ring....today one devotee saw my ring in temple and told me that kali resides in gold...so u should not wear gold rings. When i told this to my parents, they said that gold which is acquired through wrong means is not be wore but gold acquired by honest money can be wore. 

Now please tell me should i not wear gold ring ??

    PAMHO.

    Gold signifies "wealth". In other words, Kali resides in wealth. I dont think this needs any elaborating - everyone would agree that Kali resides in wealth.

    Now coming to your wearing the gold ring - there are 2 aspects to it - one is that since you are a devotee (aspiring to be one atleast), you shoudl have complete faith on only Krsna and not pay heed to astrologers and gemstones. The other aspct is - till you reach that level of surrender and develop that much faith in Krsna, you may wear the gold ring. Krsna is not petty - He is not sitting with a checklist in His hands - oh!!! this person is wearing gold  -  cancel, no bhakti for him.....nonsense!

    THere is nothing wrong in wearing gold - in fact ladies in India are envouraged to wear gold and visit temples, from a vaastu point of view, it is considered beneficial.

    Just because one is aspiring to be a devotee, one doesnt give up all the wealth that one has - would it not be better to use that wealth in the service of the lord?

       woman attract the mans mind with such golden decoration and this is the nature of gold.

      we all know how that lead on end for both.

      great vaishnavas in womens body knows all that very clearly and because of that 

      avoiding such practice, knowing the difference between body and soul.

    yes, if you are king you can take the gold on your self.

    just remember, even rajarishis needed to leave everything and go to forest to surrender to god.

    i give you few slokas , maybe you will understand the point.

    SB 10.88.8 — The Personality of Godhead said: If I especially favor someone, I gradually deprive him of his wealth. Then the relatives and friends of such a poverty-stricken man abandon him. In this way he suffers one distress after another.
    SB 10.88.9 — When he becomes frustrated in his attempts to make money and instead befriends My devotees, I bestow My special mercy upon him.

    SB 10.10.15 — A poverty-stricken man must automatically undergo austerities and penances because he does not have the wealth to possess anything. Thus his false prestige is vanquished. Always in need of food, shelter and clothing, he must be satisfied with what is obtained by the mercy of providence. Undergoing such compulsory austerities is good for him because this purifies him and completely frees him from false ego.
    SB 10.10.16 — Always hungry, longing for sufficient food, a poverty-stricken man gradually becomes weaker and weaker. Having no extra potency, his senses are automatically pacified. A poverty-stricken man, therefore, is unable to perform harmful, envious activities. In other words, such a man automatically gains the results of the austerities and penances adopted voluntarily by saintly persons.
    SB 10.10.17 — Saintly persons may freely associate with those who are poverty-stricken, but not with those who are rich. A poverty-stricken man, by association with saintly persons, very soon becomes uninterested in material desires, and the dirty things within the core of his heart are cleansed away.

    otherwise ,if you have everything, how its possible to surrender to god.

    my opinion is that we should take shelter of dear lord, not  to some gems proscribed by astrologist. 

    there is no astrologist or doctor who can save us from our karma, no matter what,

    therefore krishas lotus feet is only choice .

    in this moment money represent the same thing, what gold was representing in maharaja parikshit time, therefore there is no difference between money and gold .

    the more money or gold you have, the more is possibility of falsity, intoxication,lust envy and enmity.

    SB 1.17.38 — Sūta Gosvāmī said: Mahārāja Parīkṣit, thus being petitioned by the personality of Kali, gave him permission to reside in places where gambling, drinking, prostitution and animal slaughter were performed.

    SB 1.17.39 — The personality of Kali asked for something more, and because of his begging, the King gave him permission to live where there is gold because wherever there is gold there is also falsity, intoxication, lust, envy and enmity.
    SB 1.17.40 — Thus the personality of Kali, by the directions of Mahārāja Parīkṣit, the son of Uttarā, was allowed to live in those five places

    if you use gold  for decoration in acting krishna past times in theater, or for making golden altar for deities or similar things, then its auspicious .
    on another side, why decorating temporary material body which will turn into dust, if there is no spiritual aspect of it ?
    whats the purpose of wearing that ring, beside attracting  someones mind ?

    You can wear Gold Rings Prabhuji..What your parents told you is though Partially Correct. But the fact remains that gold carries Kali along with it as Kali has entered in gold . You need to have this realisation . The problem happens when u get attached to the Gold ring that you are wearing. If you have worn it as a symbol of marriage or love it may not cause harm ; however if you have some attachment to Gold ; it will cause havoc because then u are directly attached to the personality of Kali!!
