Do demigods chant Maha Mantra?

Hare Krishna. PAMHO. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

I know that Hare Krishna Maha Mantra is the only way and mantra that can free us from this materially conditioned in this Kali-yuga. So a question has been rising in my mind. Do demigods in this yuga chant Maha Mantra and do kirtan? Does Lord Shiva meditate by chanting the Maha Mantra?

Hari Bol!

  • Hare Krishna !! My humble pranAms to the Supreme and devotees of the Supreme !!

Demigods, according to Srimad Bhagavatham, Bhagavad-Gita and other literature, are responsible for discharging assigned responsibilities in this Universe. While they are reabsorbed by Krishna at the end of yuga-cycles like all living and non-living entities, they themselves do not aspire for liberation/moksha and remain at Krishna's eternal service until Krishna recalls them. The demigods do not come under the influence of Kali purusha as they are empowered by Krishna adequately. The Mahamantra was recommended by Lord Brahma via Narada-maharishi for the benefit of humans in Kali Yuga who are tormented by Kali-purusha and therefore require spiritual protection.

Lord Rudra (the dissolutor expansion of the Supreme) meditates on the Supreme and also serves the devotees of Lord Rama (Sriman Narayana) on earth as Mahabakth Hanuman. Whether He meditates using the Mahamantra only He knows :-)

In service of the Supreme and devotees,

    Suresh

Nice answer PrabhuJi. All I know is that Lord Shiva mediates on the form of Lord Sanakarsana(1 of the first 6 manifestations of Krishna).

      Hari Krishna.
