Hare Krishna Sachin Prabhu, please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
In modern view there is lesser divorce because mostly they live together without marriage :O

In which suffer mostly women and children.

Vedic view means once married couple never separated even death won't separate them. They are as like one body. But for such like marriage boys priorly trained as brahmacharis from the age of 5 and girls are also trained to be chaste. Boys learn shastras, serve guru, live austere life, learn arts of performing yagya if they are Brahmins, martial arts if kshatriyas, ...at the same times girls are taught also vedic knowledge, art of singing, taking care of kids, painting, playing in musical instruments, cooking.......

And before marriage parents and other seniors look for horoscope of couples, they look to the qualities of each couple if they are equal in all respects marriage is allowed. That is perfect marriage.

And the word divorce is unknown.

But if husband was not a brahmachari, girl was a business woman, ....or something like that completely forgetting their duties then how marriage will be safe? Because they do not know own duties before each other. and plus if they got married only because of bodily beauty or some other superficial qualities...

    -------

Srila Prabhupada explained the qualities of a perfect husband:

He told that Lord Rama did not created many Sitas when one Sita was stolen. He was ready to churn the universe but find and protect that one Sita Devi. Srila Prabhupada says that it is a real husband. No matter what one is ready to give all protection to his wife and as a result wife always remains chaste.

    ......

This issue arose in the society because we are forgetting the value of Vedic culture. When we wear saree we become shy because we think that it is not glorious. It means  we do not think that the culture which is coming from spiritual world is not so valuable. We do not trust to Krishna. Yes it is so.

If no then why many of us become shy to chant among people, why we become to put tilak to wear dhoti and openly declare that we trust into Krishna - into Spiritual culture???? It is our weakness.

We can solve it by putting our full faith into Krishna's words.

    Man mana bhava mad bhakto...

Abandon everything and just surrender unto Me! And I will protect You!

    Your servant,
