Since childhood, I was hearing that Krishna is an avtar of Vishnu.....but actually Vishnu is Krishna's avtar......I would heartily thank if anyone could clarify my doubt....

even the Brahma Samhita starts off with Isvarah Parama Krsnah -- Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
difference is vishnu is having serving mood to krishna

Sri Krishna is Svayam Bhagavan. He is the Original Supreme Personality Of Godhead. He is the source of everything. From Him everything comes. In the Bhagavad Gita it is mentioned He is the Absolute Truth. In Him everything exists.
Therefore, Sri Krishna is the source for Lord Vishnu and His incarnations. Lord Vishnu is an expansion of Sri Krishna. When Sri Krishna took Avatar, He passed through the gateway which is Lord Vishnu in order to come down to earth. That's why people is saying Sri Krishna is the avatar of Lord Vishnu but actually its the other way around.
