Did Albert Einstein really comment such on BG?

Hare Krsna dear devotees

Pls accept my humble obeisances AGTSP!

Somedays ago I read somewhere that scientist  Albert Einstein read BG. Tody in school I was discussing about religion with my friends who belong to diff. religion. When I informed them that Einstein also read Bg, my friend wasn't beliving me as scientists are not really interested in God, they demand proof. So I thought to surf on this and give my friend an evidence. Then in 1 site I came across that Einstein commented as such on reading Bg:

"When I read the Bhagavad-Gita and reflect about how God created this   universe everything else seems so superfluous."

I thought this won't be sufficient so I went on surfing and came across something which made me speechless:

This is most probably not a quote from Einstein:

"When I read the Bhagavad-Gita and reflect about how God created this universe everything else seems so superfluous."

It's likely fabricated to promote Hindu religion.

This is a quote from Einstein:

"A human being is a part of the whole, called by us the 'Universe', a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separate from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security." - New York Post, 28 November 1972

These are probably quotes from Einstein:

"Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods."
"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."
"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."

So please help me by giving me the correct answer, did Albert Einstein really made this commentry on BG?

  • Hare Krishna! Because of Srila Prabhupada was not there at that time, otherwise definitely Einstien accept BG as it is, as he was a gentleman by quality!

    • Hare Krishna Priya mataji !!!

I am so sorry for the wrong addressing.

Please accept my humble obeisances !!!

      • I completely agree with Bhaktavatsal Das Adhikari Prabhu !!!

  • Hare Krishna Devotees , my humble opinion please.Just because a person did not worship Krishna ,doesn't mean ,he is mundane. We should really seek the inner meaning of YOGA ,what is written in BG.

We devotees have to learn from Eisenstein also ,he was the most celebrated scientist of the world during his time and even now,but he was untouched by the glories surrounding him.He did not try to accumulate wealth with his knoweldge.

The major things he enjoyed were his Violin ,Cycle ride and walk in the park.He was a YOGI ,as per def in BG.

Krishna gave him special mercy to write equations on General Relativity ,which makes operation of today's satellite feasible, and by the same satellite ,we are able to spread/get KC through out the internet.

He was a Karma Yogi at best.

Hare Krsna to all the devotees thankyou for ur response, Shivang prabhuji I'm not prabhuji, I'm female so mataji :)

I not trying to know whats others view on BG, no doubt that BG is the highest level of wisdom and truth spoken by the Supreme Lord Himself. So when its spoken by the Supreme Himself then why should I seek others point of view, I'm just trying to know whether Albert Einstein really read BG and made such a commentry because people belive that this quote is fabricated and Einstein was a pantheistic and did not belive in any personal God.

And thankyou Krishna Sakhya prabhuji thankyou for mentioning that he was a Karma yogi.

  • Hare Krishna Prabhu ,

    PAMHO ,

    AGTSP ,

One thing you should know that Bhagvad Gita is the Highest level of wisdom and Truth spoken by Supreme personality of Godhead ,Krishna himself and no one is greater than him in any aspect. Albert Einstein is a mundane scientist and it is his perception after reading the book.Whatever may be his perception and views on it ,it cannot change the truth as Einstein is not God. What matters is how can we be benefitted after knowing the complete truth and how can we mould are life in Krishna consciousness. So its better Prabhuji to not to think upon anybodys views on BG and develop your faith according to that.

I am sorry if made any wrong comment.
