In India,there have been many serials on Lord Krishna,Lord Vishnu,Lord Rama right from 1980's till now. Ramayana of Ramanand Sagarji was the 1st serial like this.Mahabharat was a serial depicting pandavas and Sri Krsna's life,the Bhagavad Gita narrated by Nitishji as Lord was brilliant,after this B.R. Chopra's masterpiece that would make the roads vacant.Sagar arts then made SHRI KRISHNA serial in 1994.that shown full activities and pastimes of Lord,there Bg episodes were too awesome.B.R. Chopra then had another serial,Vishnu Puran-depicting dashavatars of Shri Vishnu,he also made Ramayana,however that didn't do well. In 2007,sagars had a remake of Rmayan with digitasition, very divine and royal serial,Sagar pictures made JAI SHRI KRISHNA on colors,but why was it liked was just because the baby Krishna-Dhriti Bhatia was very cute.But worst was Drama queen ekta kapoor's mahabahrat which showed very extraordinary scenes,hence it went off air before completion. I am many of u, saw all or some of it,please tell which u liked best,also share ur reviews on them,also u can tell any serial,which i may have forgot.

Thank you very much for helping us remember the importance that these TV serials have had for many of us.
I have grown up knowing these serials, especially Ramayan and Mahabarat. These 2 have been pioneer serials.
B.R Chopra's mahabarat was especially brilliant like you mentioned and full of great wisdom.
There has also been Jai Hanuman which I have found very well done. It is a serial which helps understand the life and above all the exemplary service of Lord Hanuman, with plenty of wonderful episodes. The actors and actresses play their characters very well including some humor while still taking their role seriously.
More recently, the serial "Krishna Story" which is simply the extension of "Sri Krsna" is really great.
