  • Hare Krishna,

There is a problem in framing the sentence. Pls. check.

    I guess you mistakenly typed.

" Demons are not attainable by Krsna"  It is a wrong sentence.

" Demons cannot attain Krsna" << maybe you wanted to ask it this way

  • Hare krishna prabhuji...the answer to your question lies in the fact that someone doesn't remain a demon forever but till he is one there is practically no chance for him to attain krishna. Prahlada maharaja was born in a demon family but despite the arrangement of his birth he should and is never regarded as a demon because going by defination a demon is a living entity that has major portion of his consciousness dipped in the mode of ignorance (tamo guna pradhnta). Majority of the people of kali-yuga (present millenium) are part demons if not fully and there is a spark of KC into their conciousness that can light a fire of KC into their hearts by attaining gyana(Transdental knowledge) that is possible by the mercy of krishna only. However in the case of demons this spark which is the bare necessity to ignite the fire of KC is absent without which one cannot attain krishna ever that much is a fact. Thats why the statement demons cannot attain krishna is true.

However the lord is all merciful and does not barr demons from attaining KC. By drawing inference from srila prabhupada's puroprt for BG 16:20.. the placing of the asuras, the demons, in the lowest status of life is simply another feature of His mercy. Sometimes the asuras are killed by the Supreme Lord, but this killing is also good for them, for in Vedic literature we find that anyone who is killed by the Supreme Lord becomes liberated. There are instances in history of many asuras – Rāvaṇa, Kaṁsa, Hiraṇyakaśipu – to whom the Lord appeared in various incarnations just to kill them. Therefore God’s mercy is shown to the asuras if they are fortunate enough to be killed by Him. Also see in caitanya caritamrta jagai and madhai were demons in the body of humans but they were still provided pure KC by the mercy of the lord and they no longer remained demons.

The conclusion is that one cannot attain krishna until he is a demon but as soon as he gives up his ignorance either by forceful mercy of lord( in case of ravana, hirankashipu ) or by graceful mercy of lord( in case of jagai madhai) both being causeless in a deeper sense( it would stretch the topic so i won't deep dive) his status of demon is terminated and then he can gain KC so factually NO ONE IS BARRED FROM KC

I hope your doubt got cleared.
    Hare krishna🙏

    • Yes  I think my doubt is cleared.  Thankyou! Hare Krsna!

  • Krishna does not restrict them for doing bhakti. But these demoniac people will have to give up their demoniac nature to achieve Krsna Consciousness. It does not matter by their birth. Prahlad Maharaj was born in family of demons, but he achieved pure love for God. Similarly, any demon can become devotee if he gives up his lust, anger and greed. Hope this would have helped you! Jay Prabhupada!

    • Yes it helps!  Thankyou! Hare Krsna!

  • Did you read the purport to that verse?  Srila Prabhupada explains it.  Krishna has no hatred for anyone, but even gives the demoniac what they want - lower and lower births.  If they are really lucky Krishna will kill them in his pastimes (like Putana and Aghasura).

They are not barred by Krishna, but by their own choices. The demons are not looking for Krishna, so he usually lets them be. Once you reach rock bottom... maybe you will start to work your way back up. If they start to advance and look for Krishna, they would not be demoniac anymore.
