Hare Krishna,
Radhe Radhe,
Pranams to all the vaishnavas!
We are having a bhagavatam saptaha (bhagavatam katha spanning for 7 days) at home starting this Sunday. About 40 devotees are expected to attend the katha.
We have a Radha Krishna deity set as well as a Ladoo gopal.
I'm looking for ideas on deity decoration based on a particular theme. And I also plan on making small doll arrangements..can someone suggest any themes for this purpose? Maybe something pertaining to bhagavatam?
Thank you.

I’ve always loved the idea of deity decoration in my home. It brings a sense of peace and beauty to my space. Recently, I was looking for unique decor items and came across quinceanera website. Their selection was perfect, and I found exactly what I needed to create a calming, spiritual atmosphere. Decorating this way makes my home feel like a personal sanctuary, filled with positive energy.
Hare KRsna Mataji,
PAMHO.
So nice to hear about the Bhagwat saptah in your house. YOu can do decorations on a theme based - with a different theme everyday. It depends on the time and resources available with you.
One day - do only bela flowers (mallipu, since you appear to be S Indian) decoration. Will give fragrance and beauty to the shringar.
Next day - only pots of colour (small pots filled with different rangoli colours).
Next day - only colourful dupattas - use your imagination and cover the space with all colours dupattas and sarees that you may have - preferably chiffon. Or even cotton - chunari print or lehariya print.
Next day - flowers of different colours - maybe marigold of yellow and saffron.
Next day - Laddu Gopal on swing - only pots of butter and buttermilk around (same small pots filled with butter and buttermilk)
Next day - Damodar shringar - you could tie up Damodar like in Kartik month and give a garden feel near it.
Next day - village setup. Small pet animals made of plastic or mud, cows, peacocks, trees ... the works
One day - fruits decoration - everything - from the garlands to the shringar should be made of fruits, cut or uncut.
One day - dry fruits decoration - same as fruits above, substitute fruits for dry fruits.
One day - Radha Krsna on swing - like jhulan yatra - with a forest setting around them.
I could go on and on - its so blissful to decorate the deities.
Pls do tell us what you did eventually and post some pictures if possible.
All glories to you mataji for the service you are doing/ about to do.
Haribol,
Your servant,

Jai Radhe Mataji

Sorry for late reply, I hope the festival is yet to begin...(not sure as you have not mentioned any dates)
1) You can ask your katha vyas ji (speaker) if he is having some specific theme in mind (any specific leela or specific phase of life of Lord) and you decorate your thakurji like wise
2) Else you can use the ful bangla (flower house) theme which is very nice aromatic and relaxing to relish in this summer
hope it helps
