If it is honest job where You can help others and at the same time get some profit for Your existence then it is proper.
But if this marketing is a cheating then it is not worthy to do that even in other places.
One thing we have to remember when we want to do our career:
With what activity I will help others? What act i should do to make others happy? What abilities I have to make others happy?
And if we start our career with that mood, maybe in the beginning we will get less money but internally we feel satisfied. And one who works honestly means is living according to Dharma.
When we protect Dharma, Dharma will surely protect us.
