I noticed for KAMIKA EKADASHI, it states "This sacred day nullifies even the sin of killing a brahmana or the sin of killing an unborn child in the womb, and it promotes one to the spiritual world by making one supremely meritorious. One who kills the innocent, i.e., a brahmin (brahmana), a child in the womb, a pious and spotless woman, etc., and then later hears about the glories of Kamika Ekadashi will be relieved of the reaction to one's sins".

I did not understand the next paragraph which says, "However, one should NOT think beforehand that one can kill a Brahmin or other innocent folk and then go unpunished simply by hearing of this Ekadashi. Such knowing commission of sin is an abomination". May you please help me understand the meaning behind this paragraph?

Does that mean if I read or hear Chaitanya Bhagavata verse 2.22.12, the offence of Vaishnava Aparadha will not be destroyed, if committed?

  • Hare Krishna,

There is a difference between knowingly doing sins and without any knowledge doing sins.

    Somtimes ignorance is bliss.

If we knowing kill brahmins and kill unborn child in the womb thinking that okay i will do ekadashi tomorrow and all my sins are going to be vanished. Does it help?

Its like encouraging sinful activity isn't it?

Suppose,  I never read anything about Chaitanaya Bhagavata and never knew about 2.22.12 verse and also never read about Kamika ekadashi and did some aparadha and I repent sincerely for killing the innocent and realize my mistake and seek advice from guru maharaj and the guru maharaj gives me instruction ...okay don't feel depressed whatever you did you did out of ignorance.. now do this kamika ekadashi or do harinama or read Chaitanaya Bhagwata verse you can counteract the sinful activity seek sincerely the grace of Krishna. Then it works, Because the real thing is.. how much you realize that you committed aparadh and how you feel sincerely to mend it.

Without any repentance simply okay I did bad karma let me read this now let me do ekadashi.. i have a weapon called Ekadashi and I have CB verse 2.22.12 I can do as much aparadh as I want kill anyone and still be saved because I know this way out .. will it work?

I understand. Depending on how much I repent, Ekadashi and CB verse 2.22.12 will remove Aparadha. But if I have no repentance and use Ekadashi and CB verse 2.22.12 like a weapon, it will not work because my repentance is lacking.

    • Yes. ChBh 2.22.12 and similar phala srutis refer to accidental aparadhas, not purposeful ones, comitted in the style of seventh namaparadha, abusing the strength of the holy name.

As I said, ways of counteracting Vaisnava aparadha describes Satvata tantra.
