  • Good point prabhuji. Chocolate is intoxicating indeed, give it to children and watch them become little demons. Hahaha. Now on a serious side, it is useless to eat kosher or veg and treat each other like crap. What do you think is more worrisome spiritually? Eating meat or condemning humans in ones heart?
  • Hare Krishna,

eating chocolate replaces Krishna according to this website; its quite surprising but factual.

It has Phenylethylamine,Caffeine, lead, very high oxalate content, anandamide and a ton of sugar.

  • the answer is very simple: every cacao powder contains insect particles and rodent hair approved by FDA! simply make your search in internet. Write: cacao, powder, insect, particles,FDA and see the results by yourself.

Can you offer insect particles to Krsna? No.

Usually Devotees use carob which looks like cocoa. But i heard that both cocoa and carob are in the mode if ignorance.

    Your servant,

    • Hare Krishna...Pranam.So, i found this at dandavat.com:

      A Prabhupada Nectar Story

One devotee had recently joined the temple in India. He recalls that he was addicted to eating chocolate, even though he knew that devotees did not take it. One day he had just bought a chocolate bar and was walking down a corridor in the temple with it in his hand. Suddenly, to his horror, he saw Srila Prabhupada coming down the corridor in the opposite direction. Looking around desperately for an escape he realized that there was nowhere to go. Thinking on his feet he quickly stuffed the chocolate bar into his bead bag. As Srila Prabhupada approached, the devotee offered his obeisances. Srila Prabhupada glanced benevolently at him. As the devotee rose he saw that Srila Prabhupada’s gaze did not rise: he continued to look at the floor. Looking down, the devotee was aghast to see that the chocolate bar had fallen from his bead bag as he had bowed down.Hmmm? What is this?” asked Srila Prabhupada, reaching down and picking up the chocolate bar. He examined it slowly, turning it to and fro. Finally he arched his eyebrows at the devotee: “Oh, we do not eat these things!” He put his hand on the devotee’s shoulder in a fatherly way and said, “We have so many nice sweets that we offer to Krishna. You do not know how to make them? Come with me.” Taking the devotee with him he went downstairs to the temple kitchen, where he proceeded to personally cook and instruct him how to make halava. When Srila Prabhupada had finished preparing it he offered it and personally gave it to the devotee to take.

SO, CHOCOLATE IS INTOXICATING AND WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO TAKE IT!!!

        My dear Surasrestha,

Please accept my blessings. I am in due receipt of your letter dated May 25, 1972, and I have noted the contents. The article you have sent which was published in the newsletter there is very nice. The interviewer asked intelligent questions and you have given very nice answers also. It is apparent that you have understood our philosophy nicely so you continue to read our books regularly and preach vigorously, and help to distribute this great transcendental knowledge to all the distressed souls of this Kali yuga.

In answer to your questions, the red incarnation who appeared in the Treta-yuga is Yajnapati. Lord Mohammed is accepted by us as Saktyavesa Avatar, but we do not recognize the Bahai faith. Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu appears once in the day of Brahma or whenever He is required to come. So far attending pujas at the houses of the Hindus there we can go and hold our kirtana but we should not take prasadam there. We can accept raw materials and take them to our temple but we should not accept any prasadam prepared by them. However, if they insist then we can take fruits and milk and offer them to Krishna. Cocoa and chocolate are not to be taken as they are intoxicants.

I am leaving for London on July the 4th and am returning to New Vrndavana for Janmastami celebration and at that time we can make further plans on my coming to Trinadad. In the meantime, continue to distribute this great message of Krsna Consciousness to all the people there and work hard to make the whole country into devotees. Hoping this will meet you in good health.

        Your ever well wisher,
        A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
