Your question has the answer for the question also. Once a devotee went to Srila Prabhupaada and said that Krishna Conciseness is also a priority in my life. Then Prabhupada said Krishna Conciseness should be the only priority in life. Work and all other responsibilities are there and will be there until we have this body. No matter what it comes, we should never compromise with our japa. Srila Prabhupada says, 90% of our spirituality is our Japa and unfortunately we have no time for it. We have to intelligently utilize our time.
I was hearing in one of the SB class how we can chant our 16 rounds. The devotee was nicely explaining that in the whole day we are very busy with our personal and professional work. The only time we can give for Japa is the brahama muhurtha time which is 4-4:30 - 7-7:30 in the morning. This time no one will disturb you for your office work, nor house hold work. If we miss this time, then the whole world will start chasing you to fulfill their needs.

He is not cheap!
He is priceless!
In this way if we want Him then we have to move little bit. To struggle little bit.
Or else by giving priority to other bosses we will get cheap results which will soon finish.
Japa is the first and foremost thing in our life. When we really determine ourselves to chant then we will chant our rounds no matter what it is.
There is nothing that we can not achieve! we need only DESIRE!
And other things like time, strength, chance, opportunity ...Krishna will give.
